Story
Thor is a 45-lb, 5  year-old male Brittany/Lab mix, who was found abandoned on a busy road a year ago. A Samaritan rescued him and turned him into rescue. Thor is a very sweet, loving and smart young man. He has a ton of energy and is a great companion dog that loves to hang out with his humans and play with other dogs that like medium to high energy dogs.   He loves to play with his toys and bones, have his belly rubbed, while you tell him how awesome he is. He also loves to go on rides and go to doggy training classes. Thor will benefit from an active family with children over 12 yrs of age that will take him on daily runs, walks, hikes or hang out while the do chores on many acre property.  He will do best in a home where his adopters have patience and have a strong dog obedience training background. Thor knows the commands, “sit, down, bed and come”. He is crate-trained and loves every human, but the ladies are his favorites.  This pet is located near San Antonio, Texas. If interested in adopting Thor, contact us at info@dogdiggityrescue.com

If interested in adopting Thor, contact us at info@dogdiggityrescue.com Important: If you are interested in this pup/dog, please fill out the application (link listed above). The rescue will contact you once the application is received. Although we strive to answer everyone, due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, we cannot guarantee a response to all emails. Filling out the application is the best way and ensures a response from the rescue. In addition, while you are emailing us, if others apply, you can lose out adopting the dog you chose. We have hundreds and hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. However, if you are applying or have applied anywhere else, we do need to know that. If we approve your application to adopt a dog/pup and you do not, there is a $25 cancellation fee which goes towards our much needed medical fund. A note about pricing: Puppy adoption fees can be generally $495, some are higher, on occasion some might be even as low as $350. Some pups/dogs have more flexible adoption fees. It can even depend just on the foster availability. Adult dog adoption fees vary, but generally start at $395 and go up or down from there depending on the dog. and can often be flexible, it all depends. Our adoption fees cover the cost of transportation from Texas and the necessary health certificate documentation. The fees also include all medical costs to make sure the pups are appropriately vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed/ neutered. Additionally, any dogs over 6 months have had a negative heart-worm test. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and a myriad of other vetting. If the adoption fees seem high (which never cover the true cost of rescue), we recommend fostering for a good rescue. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees. We are always in need of good fosters. We are all volunteers and many of us donate 70+ hours/week and thousands/year of our own funds. WA and OR shelters are funded by taxpayers, hence, many have lower adoption fees. Shayne's rescue is a few foster parents in the Olympia/Tumwater area. We foster dogs that rescues ask us to foster and let those rescues use this site to list those pups/dogs and rehome them. We donate all of our time, food, monies to assist in getting these dogs forever homes. We are not responsible for any experience you have with any dog you might see posted on this site. They are the property, if you will, of the rescue they come from and all paperwork and vet work you will receive when you adopt and it will have all that information for you. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. Since worldwide over 1/2 billion puppies/dogs are PTS yearly and over 9,000/day just in U.S. shelters, yes even entire litters of puppies are PTS daily in many US shelters☹..Hence, we firmly believe there is NO breed other than rescue for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
Tucker is an almost 6-year-old, black and white French Brittany.  He is neutered, current on his vaccinations, heart-worm negative and fully house-trained.  The ideal home for him would be calm, patient, and loving with Brittany-experienced owners.  A home with no other dogs would be best and no cats is mandatory.  Tucker is affectionate and quite cuddly with a lot of his time spent lying by your feet or maybe on the couch next to you. He listens quite well and is easy to manage.  He is self-confident and friendly to all people. He often likes to sleep on the bed with you. Tucker would do well with daily brisk walks and the occasional hike for exercise as long as he has a fenced yard to run and play in.  Tucker pulls hard on a leash so a front-attached walking harness is recommended, especially if you have to walk by other dogs regularly.  One-on-one leash training is highly recommended.  Tucker enjoys playing fetch and will occasionally throw a toy around on his own.  He is good at respecting fences (a 6-foot secure wooden fence) but not front doors - he can turn the handle and open the door if it is not locked.  Tucker’s only issue it that he tends to be reactive with new dogs.  He particularly seems to be triggered by young dogs as their energy annoys him and he seems to get along better with older, calm female dogs.  Homes that have regularly visiting dogs are not going to be a good option since Tucker takes a long time to accept new dogs.  He is not a social butterfly dog-park dog, but he is loving and devoted to his humans.    Tucker’s adoption fee is $350.  If you are interested in bringing Tucker into your home, please complete an on-line adoption application at www.nbran.org (under the Adopt icon).  If you have questions after completing your application, please contact Susan at wanbran@comcast.net.  You will be contacted by your state coordinator once your application is reviewed.  A telephone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.   NBRAN has a volunteer transport system and Tucker may be transported up to 1400 miles from Boise ID to an appropriate home.

Story
Hi there!  It's me...Becca!  I am ½ of an amazing pair of Brittanys and we are looking for our forever home…. TOGETHER.  My sister Britta and I used to live outside all the time but now we know what it’s like to sleep inside and we like it! I like to sleep in the room with my people but prefer a dog bed on the floor beside you.  I like people, but I like my own space too.  (you can cuddle with my sister though!)  I like to be outside and watch the birds and the critters.  We have a doggie door and a huge fenced yard so I can come and go so a fenced yard for me is a must.  I love to eat.  I was very sick when I had heart worms and was skinny…but I’m better now and I’m making up for lost time.  I love to take your socks and to steal things off the counter when foster mom isn’t looking.  I also pull on a leash when I walk.  Hey…no one is perfect right?  Like my sister Britta I'm pretty zippy for my age so I like walks and running outside to burn some steam. I like my foster family, but I can be nervous around new people that come to the house.  I just bark at them a bit…that’s all.  Foster mom says I'm "discriminating".  I am spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations and overall very healthy.  So if you are looking for a great couple of Brittanys to join your family….we are your girls.  We will only go to our new home together…. together forever!  Our adoption fee, as we are seniors, is $200 US each or if you are a senior too it’s $100 US each.  We are located near London, Ontario, Canada but NBRAN can transport us up to 2200 kms or 1400 miles.  If you are interested, please submit an application and our people will get in touch with you.  http://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application For more information about Becca (and Britta) please contact sandratoal18@gmail.com We will NOT consider splitting up this pair. They have been together their entire lives.

Story
Bandit is one of the sweetest dogs we have seen in a while.  Half Brittany and half English Pointer, he has lots of energy when outside with an almost unbelievable off-switch in the home.  Indeed, Bandit is a sweet, loving lap dog in a large body.  He just wants to lay around and cuddle.  Bandit needs a home where he can live indoors with the family and be showered with love.  He has been wonderful with the older, dog-savvy children in his foster home.  Bandit will need a home with a good-sized yard and a secure, 6-foot high fence so he can safely run and hunt squirrels.  He will also need to be with an owner who takes him on frequent walks.   Preference will be given to adopters with sporting dog experience who understand the energy needs and running tendencies of these dogs.   It is clear Bandit came from a home where he was badly abused and that history has left him with a few reactive behaviors.  While he does well on leased walks, he does not respond well when being led or grabbed by the collar.  He also will periodically cower if you try to step over him or he is surprised.  He does not get aggressive but freezes with fear.  This behavior is slowly disappearing as his foster family works with him and builds his confidence.  Because of his abuse history, Bandit needs a very patient family that can help to continue to build his confidence.  Bandit will only be adopted to a home with either no children or with dog-savvy, patient children over the age of 9.  Because Bandit is anxious about where he sits in the pack he will do best as the only dog in his new home.  Bandit is UTD on all vaccinations, heart worm negative, neutered, and micro-chipped.  His adoption fee will be $325 to offset his vetting and to allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If interested in adding Bandit you family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.NBRAN.org (under the Adopt tab).   Bandit can be transported up to 1400 miles to an approved home that is appropriate for him.  If you have questions once you’ve completed your application, please contact Susan at wanbran@comcast.net. NOTE that once your application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.

Story
Caramel is an almost 5-year -old orange and white French Brittany.  She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, heart-worm negative and fully house-trained.  The ideal home would be calm, patient, and loving, with Brittany-experienced owners.   Older, dog-savvy, children would be okay, but a home without children is also fine for her. Caramel can be quite the spitfire. Fortunately, her diminutive size makes handling her fairly easy.  She is a good listener and even when chasing squirrels in the yard she rarely needs to be called more than twice before she comes to you. She will, however, quickly be back outside if she gets the chance. She is more likely to check out smells, respond to sounds, or play with the other dogs than lie by your feet, but she has moments where she wants to cuddle and at night she sleeps quietly on the bed next to you or in a dog bed in the bedroom if you prefer.   Caramel must be in a home with a secure 6-foot, wooden fence that is clear of any objects that can be used for climbing (a reason a chain link fence also won’t work for her).  She tends to be an opportunistic escape artist so security is paramount.  She will need daily exercise outside the home and yard such as walks, runs, and/or hikes.  In spite of her size she can really pull on the leash and she could use some one-on-one leash training as well as a front-attached walking harness.  Caramel is crate trained but doesn’t really like being left in the crate for any length of time. It takes her a while to settle down and be quiet when riding in the car (she rides in a crate for safety at her foster home). Caramel is a bit prone to respond anxiously to new people, strange dogs, or unknown situations though she is also drawn to them.  It is important to be gentle and supportive at these times and in general she will benefit from a home where there is no chaotic energy.  She can be reactive when meeting dogs outside the home but in the home she adjusts fairly quickly to new dogs if she gets a chance to meet them slowly.   If you are interested in adding Caramel to your family, please complete an online application at www.nbran.org (under the Adopt icon).  If you have questions after completing your application, please contact Susan at wanbran@comcast.net.  You will be contacted by your state coordinator once your application is reviewed.  A telephone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.   NBRAN has a volunteer transport system and Caramel may be transported up to 1400 miles from Boise ID to an appropriate home.  Caramel’s adoption fee is $375.
