She came into foster care after her owner passed away and is now looking for a new family to love. Shy at first, Ginger warms up quickly and will happily come to you for attention once she feels safe. She’s fully potty trained, enjoys car rides, and prefers to avoid stairs. This easygoing girl just wants love, comfort, and companionship. Ginger is starting to take treats gently from her foster’s hand, though she can be a little protective of snacks left on the floor. One of her sweetest quirks—when you call her name outside, she’ll flop down and wait for you to scoop her up! If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who will happily be your snuggle buddy, Ginger is ready to steal your heart. Adoption Fee: $525

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.To speed up the adoption process, please complete our Pre-Adoption Application.Meet Milo. I am a excited little guy that is looking for my new forever family. *Due to the fact that I am in rescue for biting someone that came to my door I will need to go to training classes with Your Dog's Best Friend- Prior to adoption, they will be altered, vaccinated, health checked and microchipped. Adoption Fee   $500.00+taxes/fees Happy Tails Adoption Center is open on Sundays from 12-5. We are located at 7940 University Ave NE, Fridley. Dogs are at events based on the availability of their foster family. We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a 'full grown size' of many of our younger animals.Interested in adopting me? Their event attendance is based on the availability of their foster family. Home visits (video tours or in person) are required for all dog adoptions. All of our cats and dogs are INDOOR pets and are NOT to be left outside unattended (even in a fenced yard), or running loose!

Story
Cheeto's story is truly sad. He originally came to the shelter in Sept., 2012, when he was about 5 months old and has been adopted and returned 4 times. The first time was right after his arrival at the shelter and the people decided that he was too much for their older dog. The 2nd time, he was adopted into a home with 4 kids and it gradually became apparent that Cheeto was not a good fit for a home with young kids so he was returned again. He was then posted as needing a home without kids, was adopted, and stayed in that home for almost 5 years. Life happens, though, and Cheeto's people had a child. They did a lot to prepare Cheeto for the big change, including professional training. Unfortunately, Cheeto could just not adjust to having a child in the house all the time so his people made the painful decision to return him when their child was 9 months old. He was adopted again and returned recently, after almost a month. You see, Cheeto is not an easy dog. He can be very territorial and overprotective. He likes to be in control of his environment and can be very reactive to strangers, other dogs, etc. He would do well in an experienced home with one or two adults that doesn't have a lot of foot traffic. On the plus side, he is extremely loyal and loving to his people, bonding very quickly. We are giving this a shot in the hope that we can find that perfect fit. We don't want to give up on this dog. Cheeto does need an ADULT only home with experienced owners. He is not a dog for a first time owner. He is highly intelligent, very well trained, active, and a lot of fun.
