Story
Hi there! My name is Yasmin, and I came all the way from Egypt! I was a friendly stray kitty before being brought here to Toronto by Safehome. I am an outgoing, curious, and adventurous girl who loves exploring. I am eager to play and make friends, and will always be excited to see you. I greet you with soft chirrups and lots of head butts and side rubs against your legs. I love attention, playing with toys, and taking naps with you. It is important to keep in mind that because I was a street cat and didn’t spend my early years in a home, I wasn’t socialized to “play properly” with others. That means I play a little rough (I will nip and use my claws when I play), and sudden movements or loud noises alarm me. I have had to learn certain behaviours to survive on the streets; I am never aggressive or mean, but I will need a patient, cat-experienced family to help me learn to trust and re-learn appropriate, gentle play behaviours. My ideal home would be a calm and quiet house with lots of space for me to explore and play, with a single/couple and no young children or animals. I am not a fan of loud noises or sudden commotion. I am steadily making progress with my foster family – I just need someone to give me the time I deserve to develop confidence and learn to trust humans. Please be patient with me and give me a chance at a loving forever home so that I can show you my true personality! I had a rough start in life, and all I want now is to settle down with a loving forever family. I am spayed, up to date with shots, and in good health. I am a beautiful girl who is well-groomed and low maintenance. I am litter trained and have never had any accidents. If you're interested in getting to know me, please let the folks at Safehome know! I can't wait to meet you :)

***The Superb Senior discount applies to Dakota! Adoption fee is only $100***Dakota is a senior lady looking for a retirement home for the rest of her years! Here is what her foster parents said about her:Retirement means getting to sleep in, so this thoughtful cat won't wake you up to get fed and waits until you're ready to start your day. She'll protect you from those pesky ropes and strings she sees wiggling around her in the house. She loves watching TV in the evening next to her human pals. She will supervise what you're up to whether it's typing up emails or building a puzzle (PS she won't sabotage it, as she never knocks anything off the table). As she is an older gal, she does have joint pain but easily takes her pain medication sprinkled on her food. Her hind end is where she experiences most of that pain but she loves a good head rub!Dakota is very clean with her litterbox and has great litter habits. Dakota would love to be the only child in the home but could live with another pet or older children so long as the home is quiet and all animals/children are very respectful. Dakota is spending her time in a foster home. If you would like to learn more about her or feel you would be a suitable family for her, please call the Guelph Humane Society, 519 824 3091.

Meet Vienna! Vienna came to the shelter in January when she was transferred from another rescue. Vienna is a very curious and friendly girl that loves to explore! She's not a fan of being picked up but will happily follow you about and hop up onto the couch next to you for snuggles. She's a bit nervous of small kids but would do well with older children who respect when she'd like alone time. She is not a fan of other cats. Vienna can't wait to meet her new family! Come visit her at GHS today!Visiting hours:Monday-Wednesday: 11:00am - 5:30pmThursday: 11:00am - 7:30pmFriday: 11:00am - 5:30pmSaturday: 11:00am - 4:30pmSunday: 11:00am - 3:30pm

Story
Callisto is friendly and curious. He will come right up to you for attention and then try to sneak by you to get out of his cage! He is very social and we can often hear him meowing from down the hall. Callisto is also harness trained! He loves going for walks around the shelter, exploring and meeting new people. He is a very loving boy, in search of an equally loving family. Please visit him at GHS!Special Note:**This cat was part of a large-scale surrender of animals. The pets in the home were living in difficult circumstances in a single home, also referred to as a hoarding situation. Animals living in hoarding situations may need more time to adjust to an adoptive home, and with no preventative medical care are at higher risk for infectious disease transmission. This cat was examined by a veterinarian, has received medical attention and is now ready for adoption. If you are interested in adopting this cat, more information will be provided in person and during the adoption meeting.**Visiting hours:Monday-Wednesday: 11:00am - 5:30pmThursday: 11:00am - 7:30pmFriday: 11:00am - 5:30pmSaturday: 11:00am - 4:30pmSunday: 11:00am - 3:30pm
