Story
Magda (Maggie) is a loving and playful girl who is almost 3 years old. She is still in search of her forever home, where she can be showered with love and care. Maggie was rescued from an outdoor colony and initially acted as a surrogate mom to other cats. However, she has now adjusted well to living indoors and enjoys watching birds from the window or catio. Maggie gets along well with other felines and loves her cat shelves. She is a lively girl who loves running and chasing toys. Although she may take a few hours or days to warm up to someone, she will shower her special person with all her heart ??, which is full of love and affection.

Story
Birdie is the runt of her litter and is tiny but she makes up for that with spunk! She loves to play and makes pretty much anything a toy. Birdie is still getting use to be picked up or held but has started to really like a cuddle session. Birdie will be timid at first but will come out of her shell with some time and trust building.

Story
Bear is bonded with Brownie, they must be adopted together.Bear is curious and playful, and loves to snuggle into the crook of my elbow for cuddles and belly rubs, she also loves to snuggle with her sister Brownie, as they've been constant companions after being separated from mom at a very early age. She is used to other cats, and has grown up with our dog also. She is used to being brushed regularly.

Story
A year ago today, this sweet girl came into our lives. The day she arrived, she was around 8 months old, very pregnant, and terrified. The very next day, she gave birth to 4 kittens - 1 was stillborn, 1 passed away the next day, and a third (RIP Troy) succumbed to a viral infection when he was 8 weeks old. Being part of a feral colony can mean that litters are compromised by inbreeding and lack of health care for these kitties compared to their more domesticated counterparts. Having a kitten die on your watch is heartbreaking. Her surviving kitten, Tux, is a handsome boy, and adored by his adoptive family. Taylor has come such a long way since those first days, where she shook, hissed and wanted no part of us. With time, lots of patience and taking things strictly at her pace, she now sleeps on our bed at night, normally tucked up by our feet, and hurries me along if I'm not getting her breakfast quickly enough (boops or nips depending on her mood). She adores our gingers, plays with any kittens we have, and seems to be enjoying just being a kitty as opposed to the life of constant litters and life in the wild that she would have had. Will she ever be a lap kitty? Probably not, but she'd make a great companion to someone willing to continue to let her grow at her own pace. Happy 1 year Anniversary of your new life Taylor, we're honoured to be part of your story ??😻🐈??

Story
Hello, I'm Lynx. I'm a (young) senior, but don't let that fool you. I still have plenty of love to give. I'm sweet and gentle, and while I am very shy at first, once I get to know you, I'll be your loyal companion. I'm also a smart boy, I love puzzle toys!My Hu-Mom that brought me home as a kitten all those years ago got sick and was unable to keep me so I am back with BARS for now. Since returning, I've been diagnosed with diabetes, but my foster Mom says I'm "an absolute champ" at taking my insulin injections.I absolutely love to flop over for my foster Mom and show her my white tummy, and when she sits with me I like to curl up in her lap. It took a while for me to trust that I was safe but after building trust she says I am a purrfect housemate!I don't like loud environments and while I have lived with other cats and a small dog, I would also be happy being your only best boy! I also need a home who is willing to work with my diabetes, which includes twice-daily insulin injections and scheduled feeding. If you'd like to know more about me, reach out to the BARS Feline Team! If you're looking for a calm older kitty, give me a chance and I promise, you won't regret it!

Story
These two handsome boys are looking for their furever family or families. At about a year and a half old we know nothing of their past before they came into BARS care. They are well house trained but incredibly timid, the vet figures they weren't handled much if at all when they were young. We have made slow but consistent progress with them. They both enjoy pets now as long as it's on their terms, treats help. They are both really pretty easy going and get along with other cats in the house and they tolerate the dogs. We have not seen a spicy moment from either of them.Monty is a big fluffy goofball who plays well independently or rough housing with a friend. He likes having his belly scratched and will sometimes even come looking for scratches now.Maury is Mr. Serious especially when it comes to treats. He enjoys rough housing with his friends and watching the fish tank. He let's us know he is wanting head scratches by rubbing on our legs, usually when we are in the kitchen. These boys have come a long way but they will need a lot of patience to continue to learn to trust.
