Story
Curly was born in summer of 2017.  She was born at Home Depot in Concord and rescued at an early age along with her littermates.  She and Posey are still waiting for a home.  Curly is at first the one more open to making friends but later both are about the same with very similar personalities.  They love to play with each other.  Sometimes the sleep together and other times on their own.  They may be a little slow to warm up but a wand toy would make you their best friend pretty fast.  They would both do best in a home that isn't too busy.  An older child would be good for them.  They haven't been around dogs but they are young enough to adapt, given slow introductions.  Shown at Petco, S. Story
Anastasia is a beautiful gray and white kitten. While initially shy, she has grown in confidence as she has felt more safe and comfortable. She is now quite proud to arch into her human’s hands for a wonderful back massage and head scritch. She is curious and is quick to get to the window to check on the birds outside. She likes being in on the action with the rest of her siblings -- playing chase, diving for the dinner bowl, purring in cat-satisfaction when the human follows directions. Anastasia has a special tail. When she was successfully caught in a drop trap with her siblings, it turned out that her little tail must have gotten pinched underneath the trap. As a result, the very end is “crooky.” This is simply now part of her special personality and was the inspiration for the name Anastasia; she is a shade of gray with a kinky tail. Anastasia is looking for her forever home where she can purr and be safe and loved. Anastasia’s best friend is her sister Blossom; they enjoy romping and preening for hours. Other siblings are Molly, Carina and Mr. Blop. A family in Richmond moved and abandoned forty cats to the neighborhood when they left. Many of these kitties were socialized but unfixed.  Neighbors worked hard over the next year to trap, fix, and find homes for these kitties.  Blossom and her four teeny siblings were spotted by an observant neighbor in an underbrush of ivy. Because their Calico mama Luna was so smart and protective, it took quite a while to catch this bunch even though they became used to humans early on.  They will be shown at Petco in Walnut Creek, 1301 S. California 1-4pm Sat & Sun. CC4C Contact: Gemma, 925 708-8395 (text ok!) Story
Pesha is a very loving cat who is 12 years old but can still play like a cat half her age. We adopted her at 8 weeks old and have raised her since then. Our family situation has changed drastically over the past few months which include getting a dog, having a newborn along with the need to move very often, she has been very stressed out and we would like to have her go to a home where it will be stable and she will have to move homes very little or at all. She is bonded with our other cat Bella (2nd picture) who is 6 months younger, she is skiddish and can be shy, but when she warms up she is very affectionate and would rather lay on your chest or lap than run around and play. We would like to keep them together if at all possible and feel that it might make the transition easier as well.

Story
This handsome guy in the silver suit is TUX, about 3-5 years old. He’s a burly boy (about 15 pounds) who thinks he’s a lap cat. His favorite thing is cheek scratching and head rubbing. Wand toys and the occasional catnip item are well-received too. This guy was happy inside til his family got a dog that chased him—so he avoided the inside. Then the family moved and left him. Kind neighbors fed him for a year outside in all weather, and finally called Community Concern for Cats hoping to give him a better life. Tux would be best as the only cat (and no dog) in a home without kids. His months surviving outside have left him a bit defensive—but his loving nature still shines through. Please contact Candace at candaceo@aol.com to arrange a meeting with handsome Tux.Community Concern for Cats is an all-volunteer rescue organization helping homeless and abandoned cats in Contra Costa County. Learn more about our adoption process, locations, fees, and download an application at http://www.communityconcernforcats.org/adoptions/adoption-process/.
