**In search of a special person(s) to adopt these 2 beautifully sweet, but shy and misunderstood cats! ** We'd love to get them out of the bedroom they are living in and experience the freedom to run around in a home they can call their own! Ruby (orange tabby) and her 1 month old baby (Lilly) were rescued about a year ago where they were abandoned outside of a pet store. Now they are currently 2 (Ruby) and Lilly (1) and Lilly has just about outgrown her momma! Over the year they've had a few potential adopters come to see them, but they get so scared around new people they'd hide, and hiss and growl. But they are really all bark and no bite as we've said they are such sweet cats at heart. They just get so scared and that's their only defense. Rightfully so given their rough start in life. We are hoping to find the right person with a patient attitude and caring heart with possibly a quieter household that would be willing to give these 2 girls a try. We promise it's such a rewarding experience when you earn the trust of cats and can help them to come out if their shy little shells. They are a bonded pair so they'd have to be adopted together. All of our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, up to date on shots, combo tested negative for FIV/Leukemia and microchipped. She doesn't like people BUT she is great with other cats/kittens and dogs. She is very loving and affectionate to the other cats in the foster home. The kitten in one of the pictures is Henry. He is just another kitten in the foster home that Chardonnay took under her wing and reassures him that he is in a safe place. Perfect litter box manners and never tries to get outside! She loves being an indoor kitty. We are looking for a great home that wants a companion for their other kitty. Ferris is a total sweetheart. He loves people (and attention!) and will greet you at the door the minute you come home. His favorite thing is a lap to sit in, and if he’s able, he’ll cuddle for hours! If he’s especially sleepy in the morning, he’ll even ask to be picked up and held on your shoulder for a few minutes. He’s friendly, curious, and talkative, and he loves chasing his wand toy across the room before laying down for a long nap. If your lap isn’t available, he’ll settle for leaning against his cardboard scratch pad or sprawling out on a bed or sofa. He warms up to people quickly - especially if there’s fishy treats involved - but loves spending time alone with his person, too. Ferris is approx. 4 years old. Hi my name is Destiny. I am a beautiful ‘torbie’ cat. Torbie is short for tortoiseshell-tabby. They are also called patched tabbies since they are a tabby with patches of red or cream. Adding stripes also tends to make the red harder to see. Most torbies will have some red on their feet, even if you don't see it anywhere else. If the sun is shining on me you can see my beautiful red patches I was a very fortunate kitty. The kind person that found us in Ashland KY brought us to Cat Adoption Team. CAT took us all in and gave us a wonderful start in life. I am now out looking for a forever home. My name is Belle. I'm a short hair cat about 5 years old. I am litter trained of course. And my favorite toy of all time is a thick shoe string. Toy mice, lazer pointers and puff balls are fun but nothing beats chasing that string around. I like it best when the people make it move, but sometimes I will make it move myself if they don't. And they always tire out before I do. What are some other things I like? My scratching post, treats, fresh water as you are putting it in my bowl and being everywhere the people are. I do not like being locked out of rooms. I want to be able to see you. I'm not a lap cat, though I do enjoy my belly being petted when I want it petted. You will know because I will flip onto my side. And I also really love sleeping on a soft blanket on the people bed. I'll stay there all night. Did I mention I like my string the best? I have 3 cats ( a mother cat and her 2 sons) and they all got along perfectly until I had to move back in with my parents for financial reasons. My dad`s cat gets along with my mother cat and her older son but he regularly beats up my youngest cat. Despite doing everything I can make this stop or to separate them Kovu has been getting attacked regularly and is now very fearful. He is not aggressive towards people or female cats but will likely not do well in a home with another male after this. It will be at least another 6 months before I am able to move back out and seeing Kovu get more and more reclusive I know that I can not keep him in this situation. He now runs at any sudden movement or sudden sound, but if you sit and calmly call him over he will come to you to be petted. Prior to this he was a fun loving and affectionate cat and I`m hoping that with the right home away from all of this he can relax and act like his old self.
