If you are looking for a regal, one-man show, check this guy out! Chico's family surrendered him to the shelter because they were having a baby and they felt he would not do well with a baby/toddler. Chico likes to observe the other cats rather than interact with them. He is a dominant type of male cat, who would do best in a home with people who have had cats before. He has beautiful markings. He will be very grateful to whoever adopts him because he really is not a 'cat' kind of guy and our shelter cramps his style! To see Chico or any of our wonderful cats at the shelter please come to one of our open houses, Tuesdays from 4:30 - 6pm or Sundays from 2 - 4pm. All our cats/kittens are up to date with shots, spayed or neutered, tested negative for feline leukemia/feline aids, and are socialized. We adopt our cats/kittens to indoor homes only. Adoption fee is $50 which covers only a portion of the expenses in getting a cat ready for adoption. Our address is 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN. Horatio was rescued from the local city pound along with his brother (Krypton) and a sister(Hyacinth). He is a little shy around people at first, but he warms up after he gets to know you. If you have patience and a loving home, the adoption of this guy could be very rewarding.. He has been living here at our shelter for over a year, and we all would love to find a new home for him. In one of the photos, you can see Horatio with his sister, Hyacinth in the background. Please consider him when you are looking at our cats! To see him or any of our wonderful cats at the shelter, please come to one of our open houses, Tuesdays 4:30 to 6PM or Sundays, 2-4 PM. All of our cats are up to date on shots, spayed or neutered, tested negative for feline leukemia/feline aids and are socialized. We adopt to indoor homes only. Eddie was rescued from the Austin City Pound on 3/12/10. He is a great guy who LOVES to play. He gets along very well with the other cats here at our shelter. When he first came to our shelter he was a little on the shy side, but he has warmed up wonderfully since his exposure to "People." We would love to find a great home for him--he has been with us for quite some time!! Please check him out when you come to our shelter to visit the felines. If you are looking for a bundle of attention, this is the cat for you. Katy was rescued from the Austin City Pound on 7/23/10. She has a little different approach to getting to know you but she LOVES people after she has made their acquaintance. She does fine with the other cats but does not seek them out for company. . She is a beautifully-marked torti. Katy would be a great pet for a loving home. Niles is one of our cats who likes to make himself known when we are cleaning kennels. He was rescued from just outside the city limits of Austin. Denise was born 5/2016 to Ebony. She has 3 siblings--Dutchess, Gary, and Sherry. She is a very sweet girl and is doing great here at MCHS. She is a little shy at first, but once she knows you, she is a typical, fun-loving kitten. Denise's Mom, Ebony, has tested neg for feline leukemia and FIV. Denise is now spayed, and current on shots/dewormings. She will be adopted as an INDOOR only cat and the adoption fee is $50.
