Story
Butterz was acquired from the APL as a kitten. Since then he's been a little furry bundle of fun. He's been a member of our family for about 5 years now and he's been the source of joy for our family ever since. He's extremely playful, absolutely LOVES children, and will chase anything that is willing to run from him. He can be a great hunter, as well as a great companion for when you're in need of a pick me up. If you're looking to adopt a new family member that wont pee on your carpet, wont chew up your house shoes, and will roll all over your floor begging for attention while you're trying to watch TV, then look no further. We're looking for a responsible family that is looking to extend it's family by one more fury member.

Story
Hello my name is Cuddles. I am a lovable senior cat that needs a home. Very loving and caring. I am great with kids and other animals. I am very low maintenance as my favorite hobbys are laying around and i love to snuggle. I am fixed so i can not have babies. I am also declawed. My owner is very sick and needs to rehome me asap as they can no longer physically care for me. I have lived with other cats and dogs and do just fine. I love snack time and would be a perfect fit for your home. Please consider adopting me into your family i will be the perfect fit.

Story
Patches was found alone in the woods left in a crate at 8 weeks old. He was found next to a very large chain tied to a tree so it’s assumed he was left with a dog. We took him in from our cousin who was the original adopter but patches was so scared of their two large dogs he spent most of his time locked in a room hiding in the litter box so that’s when we took him in. Unfortunately he does not get along well with my first cat and spends all day hiding in a spare bedroom. He is a very sweet cat. He’s vocal and he’s a lover and will sleep right next to you if given the chance. I hate to rehome him he is such a sweetheart. I just want him in a loving home and that’s why we took him in to begin with. He will need to be the only pet in a quiet household. He is shy but a great little kitty when he warms up to you. Please give him a chance♥️

Story
My Zoerbee was adopted as a kitten when the shelter found her on the street. She’s such a sweet and loving cat, loves to cuddle and play and is the best sleeping buddy. Zoe has some pretty bad anxiety though and is scared of a lot of things. She takes off running at loud noises, will hide for anyone she doesn’t know, and gets really stressed. Unfortunately, our life is not suitable for her anymore because we have a 2.5 year old and she bounds herself to the bedroom where she hides 99% of the day. I feel so bad because it’s no life to live and with us wanting another baby, I can’t imagine her anxiety getting better. Ideal adopter has a calm home, no dogs or kids, and someone who just wants to love her. She’s going to be 10 come September so she’s still full of life. I hate the thought of giving her away, but she deserves better.

Story
Silver needs a home where he can enter and exit (be an indoor/outdoor cat). He doesn't use the litterbox, goes nearby, and would most likely go outdoors but this is not possible. He is very loving and adventurous. He has lived with other cats and gets along well with them.

Story
Despite all that we do here to make it welcoming, the shelter is a scary place for cats. They don't know what this place is, or why they've ended up here. At first, they may not even understand that we are here to help them, not hurt them. Because of this, many cats who would make wonderful companions simply do not show well at the shelter, and it keeps them from quickly finding their home. When Pearl entered the shelter, she was very sad and grumpy. She did not want to leave her cage or receive attention from the volunteers. She often had a constant low growl or hissing coming from her cage. We knew that Pearl was just frightened and uncertain. We were confident that if someone would give Pearl a chance, she would become a wonderful feline companion. Pearl was placed in foster care with a volunteer to see how she would do in a home environment, away from the stresses of the shelter. Pearl has blossomed. Pearl was very interested in checking out her new expanded space. After spending months afraid to leave her cage at the shelter, Pearl was now very interested in exploring her new area, even ignoring her food to do so. Her foster mom allowed Pearl to approach her for petting on her own terms, and Pearl did. Once she trusted her foster mom, Pearl would push on her for more attention. She lets her foster mom hold her, but that took a little time. Pearl, who didn't even want to leave her cage at the shelter, is now obsessed with playing with the laser toy. Her foster mom bought her an automatic laser light and reports that it is always "game on" for Pearl. She also loves playing with paper balls and mice and rolling around in wrapping paper. This cutie has even been known to be up and playing during the middle of the night. She enjoys being brushed and loves to look out the window and spy on the deer and the neighbor's dog. In typical cat fashion, Pearl enjoys sitting in a good box and knocking things off the desk every now and then. She's also sure to jump on the bed as you're making it. She likes to keep her human company while they watch tv. Although she wasn't completely sure about sleeping in bed with her foster mom at first, Pearl now sleeps right next to her, stretching out and relaxing. She will even pull on the covers so she can get underneath. Since she stayed with her foster mom over Christmas, she was given a small tree in her room. Pearl was obviously familiar with them and loved to sleep under it. Pearl has proven herself to be a wonderful house guest. She always uses her scratcher and maintains a clean litter box. She is quite the talker now and loves to purr. Pearl is a very curious girl, who could even do well in an active household with a proper adjustment. She is currently in foster care. In you are interested in Pearl, please contact ARF's cat coordinator, Pat Brinks at arfcats@gmail.com
