Story
Bernice is a adult grey and white with a "sweet and sassy" disposition. She is a very smart cat with a very quirky personality. Bernice is a bit of a diva and likes to have everything her way so you want to be "owned" by your cat, Bernice may be the one for you. She has a deep dislike of other pets (she likes to be the center of attention of course) so she must be inside only in a home where there are no other cats or dogs. Bernice would do best with an experienced cat owner who understands cat-a-tudes and when Bernice wants some "alone time". Small children are not her cup of tea and prefers quiet predictable, evenings with no drama. If you want to share your life with Bernice, please let us know!

Story
Molly is a petite torbi who is looking for a great forever home. She was rescued from the MWC Shelter at the first of October (2019) super pregnant and gave birth to six male kittens (a rainbow of colors) on Oct 4th. Molly is very friendly and really playful. She also loves attention and will climb into your lap for some loving for short periods of time then off she goes, in search of a toy or something else that peeks per curiosity.

Story
My name is Slate and I am looking for a great new home. I will be 3 years old in July (2018) and am a very BIG boy!. I was surrendered to PAWS as a kitten and adopted out shortly after that but returned in December (2016) because I was a little "too" active. My owners were a young couple that both worked leaving me alone daily. When they came home, or visitors came over they thought I was "too aggressive" with them but i was just trying to get them to play with me. I must admit that I wasn't happy to leave them (and hissed furiously to everyone that came near me) but I gradually adjusted to "foster care" again where there is lots of activity - my foster mom didn't work. I still don't care for most other cats (although I can be partial to females I think are cute?) and can be opinionated about people too sometimes. I do use my teeth (but not hard) when I am trying to get you to play with me. If you are interested in me, please contact paws at pawsokrescue@gmail.com or download an application from our website.

Story
Hi! My name is Darla and I am looking for a great new home. PAWS rescued me as a small kitten in 2011 and found me a nice home a few months later with two young men. They later got another cat (which stressed me a little because I have always been very shy) but then when I developed, what the vet finally diagnosed as "stomatitis" they decided to return me. They tried to "fix" it for almost 18 months (and 2 vets) with pills and salve they put on my gums but it just kept getting worse. I am so glad they returned me to PAWS in January (2016) because I was in terrible shape. I had sores all through my mouth, could barely eat, was skin and bones and couldn't even retract my tongue all the way back in my mouth because of the swelling. PAWS and their great vet knew exactly what I needed. First large doses of antibiotics to bring the infection under control (it took almost a month!) so that they could do what they called a "full gumby" on me. What they did was remove all my teeth except for my four canines. Well.... I can tell you life got a whole lot sweeter after that! I was still on antibiotics for a couple more months (I got weekly injections because I wouldn't let anyone touch my mouth - my previous owners made me very scared of THAT!) and I finally got a clean bill of health in April. I milked my foster mom for wet food for a while but now I am back on a completely dry food diet and doing very well. I would like to find a new family soon that appreciates my shy nature and all I have been though in my short life. Maybe one with no other pets would be the best for me because I am shy and at first don't trust people very much. One great thing about adopting me..... no dental bills! lol!

Story
Tamlyn was a stray pregnant cat when we picked her up in July 2014. The next day she gave birth to three adorable kittens. We also found out at that time that she carries the Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All three of her kittens have since died from the virus, one at just a few weeks of age, the other two when they were about 9 months old. She is very shy but really appreciates a loving hand. She is quiet and quite pretty. Tamlyn is in foster care where she is kept separate from all the other cats and cannot be housed in our Adoption Center at PetSmart because of her FeLV status. This virus can be prevented through regular inoculations, something Tamlyn never had. It is likely she spread it to many other non-vaccinated cats during her years as a stray. Catching FeLV will greatly reduce the lifespan of a healthy cat. Tamlyn would love to have a loving home for whatever time she may have left. Learn more about FeLV at: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/Health_Information/brochure_felv.cfm

Story
Introducing MAUI! She is a 10 year old, front declawed black Maine Coon mix with a super sweet personality who is looking for a quiet home where she can be an only pet. We rescued her from the Edmond Shelter in August and here are some comments from her foster mom: "Maui is a sweet older cat who loves to sit near her person. She is shy at first, but once she gets used to having you as “her person”, she will calmly follow you around your home so she can be near you. She loves to be gently brushed, petted and scratched. She will sometimes sing to you or roll on the floor to remind you that you can rub her tummy. Despite her age, Maui still likes to play. She likes to have a kitty mouse and a string toy in her collection. SHe is she is such a delight that I would like to adopt her, but I don’t have the ability to care for another cat long term. However, I do offer free babysitting for Maui if Maui finds a home in OKC. Of course, no kitty is perfect so it’s important to keep dried flower arrangements away from Maui, or else she will rearrange them for you, and possibly eat some, which leads to an upset tummy. Also, sometimes she needs a newspaper under her litter box, and she might take your place on your pillow!" Maui has a thyroid issue which was out of control when we rescued her. After months of food/medication formula adjusting we finally got her thyroid under control. She is on a strict diet of Prescription Diet Feline Y/D (no other food, no treats etc) and a once-a-day Methimazole pill (2.5 mg). The food is only available from a veterinarian and her new owner needs to commit to repeating thyroid testing at least annually. If you are interested in learning more about Maui, contact us.
