Story
Jean Grey is a sweet, special little lady who someone saw fit to duct-tape into a small box and leave near a store dumpster around Thanksgiving 2019. It was by pure chance that I heard her desperate meowing and that night, I carried her 18 blocks home because I refused to leave her in the freezing cold. She has been in my care since, and in that time she has shown what a precocious and loving little goblin she is! She's very good with my own kitties, plays with them and snuggles up to sleep with them, I haven't had any dogs around, so I'm not sure how she would react to one but her personality suggests she would adjust if someone has maybe one mellow dog! She loves catnip and playing with laser pointers, and her little goldfish toy. She's very vocal when she's hungry and feisty enough that you'll want to keep your trash bin covered, or she's bound to knock it over to find out what's inside! She is fully box-trained (on wood pellet litter, NO clay or clumping clays) and indoor-only.

Story
These two lads, Angus & Rupert are bonded brothers that need a home together.  Fostering would help as they are skittish.  These guys are 5 months old and absolutely gorgeous.  They get along with dogs and other cats.  We consider them special needs because of their shyness. Before being adopted each cat and kitten is: Tested for FIV/FELV (Negative) Treated for fleas, worms and any health issues that they may have. Story
Sweet Pea is a kitty who's name just fits.  Super sweet girl.  She is sight impaired, but gets along fine with other cats & even dogs.  She will need special attention.  She loves a good cuddle and having her ears rubbed.  Appropriate special home would be anyone who has prior experience with a sight impaired kitty.  A quieter home would be best.  If you're retired or work from home, that's a plus.  INDOORS ONLY.  If you are interested in meeting her, please email savethepetsor@gmail.comBefore being adopted each cat and kitten is: Tested for FIV/FELV (Negative) Treated for fleas, worms and any health issues that they may have. Story
Ester is a beautiful 5 month old female tabby and white kitten. She looks almost identical to her brother Rosie. They would make a wonderful pair adopted together. Ester loves to "talk", she will meow for attention, and loves to be petted. She is a little shy at first but once she gets to know you she loves to be on laps and to be held. More information and pictures to come. Before being adopted each cat and kitten is: Tested for FIV/FELV (Negative) Treated for fleas, worms and any health issues that they may have. Story
Pike is a very special kitten, almost a year old, weighing only just under two pounds. Pike has kitty dwarfism, the vet says she's healthy, but most likely won't grow to be more than five pounds.  Pike is curious, and very playful. She loves to be held, and will ride around on your shoulder just to be involved in what you are doing. Pike is very cuddly, loves attention, and will meow for it!   Pike is so passionate about being with her humans she will launch herself at you like a tiny spider monkey to climb up to your shoulder or onto your lap. Because Pike has kitty dwarfism, she has tiny paws and her claws don't fully retract. So she will constantly, unintentionally scratch you with her little razors.  Pike will need to go to a home without young children or rowdy dogs. Because of her size she may need extra vet visits, and MUST be an indoor only cat. It may be best if she is the only cat in the household. Pike is very food aggressive and will bite any other animal that comes close to her while eating. If you do have another animal you will have to feed Pike in a carrier or another room.  Because Pike gets excited about eating her wet food, she will step in it and get it all over her face while eating. When she is done she needs to be gently wiped down with a warm washcloth or a grooming wipe.  About one to two times a week Pike will projectile vomit, this is something that has been happening with her since she was born, and will continue for the rest of her life.  Pike is currently at a foster location, please contact us to schedule a visit.  Because Pike is a special needs kitten, adoption fee is to be determined upon adoption approval. Before being adopted each cat and kitten is: Tested for FIV/FELV (Negative) Treated for fleas, worms and any health issues that they may have. Microchipped.  Up to date on shots. Spayed or neutered; or have an appointment set. Fostered, and socialized.  Cost of vetting, shots, microchip, and spay/neuter are covered in the adoption fee.

Story
Sissy is full of personality and a hoot to be around.  She came from a feral colony and we consider her Special Needs.  Sissy tested positive for FIV antibodies via the customary snap test given to all our kitties.  This test does not test for the actual virus, just antibodies.  That said, FIV kittes who are well behaved are fine to adopt into a home with other pets.  FIV is transmitted by a deep puncture bite.  So what we know about Sissy is she has been exposed to the virus (thus the positive for antibodies).    Read more about it here:  https://mailtribune.com/news/top-stories/cats-with-feline-hiv-condition-can-be-adopted Sissy and her other colony mates that we rescued have occasional congestion flare ups.  The vet thinks herpes related.  Lysine in her food has helped.
