Story
Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana. Thank you for considering adoption!  Matilda Female Age estimated around 1 year. Litterbox trained She is up to date on all vaccines, testing, spayed, and microchipped.    About Me:     I once had a home. Someone use to pet me and give me food. For some reason that stopped though. Life threw me some curves. I had babies in a shed I found, it was the safest place I could find. I thought they were safe. I went back to them one day after searching for food but the shed door was shut. I stayed around for days crying for my babies. They were inside and they needed me. These people saw my distress. They were sad and woeful, they didn’t know my babies were in there when they shut the door. They said they were sorry but my babies had died. I didn’t understand. I stayed around mourning and crying for my babies for days. I decided to go away for a few weeks. When I returned, they watched me. One day a lady from Rockers Rescue showed up. They thought I was feral but I showed them that I’m really sweet. She said she would save me. I’d get food, a house, medicine, and love. She told me she would find me a family and that I would be a part of the Rockers family. They named me Matilda. In my foster home I love the kittens. They allow me to be the mommy I never got to be. At events you will usually see me in a kennel with one of my kitten friends. I’m a very sweet girl but I do get nervous at events. Now people know my story though, now they can love me like Rockers Rescue does. I’m so deserving of love. I am Matilda.    Matilda is good with cats and tolerable of dogs. Good with respectable kids. More of a lounger than a player. Does enjoy playing with the kittens. Comes up for attention.  Some Notes:          *This kitty    is to be an indoors kitty. <<< If you are after an indoors/outdoors or outdoors only kitty then this is not the right kitty for you. We can help find one to meet those needs though! Just ask. This particular one...not it. Indoors only. <3  *We also do not approve of declawing. We request that you research that. We have seen many cases where cats become irritable or stop using the litter box etc. and people try to surrender them to us.  * We are ran by volunteers and will try to review your application as quickly as possible. By choosing to adopt you help us open space up to save another life!       Vetting:                 Up to date on shots. Has kitty yearly vaccines and rabies vaccine. Tested for FIV FeLV and was negative.  Dewormed.  I am spayed. On monthly kitty revolution to protect against fleas and ticks.  I will be    Microchipped  with lifetime registry  )   About Applying to Adopt:    This Kitty has a $40 adoption donation fee (microchip fee is included) This fee generally NEVER covers how much we actually spend on the animal. We are a 501c3 non profit so the fee goes back into our volunteer rescue to help us save more lives. We function solely on donations. Go to https://www.rockersrescue.org/info/adoption to apply for adoption. Try to include as much about yourself as possible. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. We are located around Shreveport, Louisiana.   Upon application approval, you would then get to meet the animal and we would all discu ss if we think they would be a match for your home. Thank you for considering adoption!  Pretty Boy (PLEASE NOTE, vet history required to apply for this pet. We are getting lots of questions on our process right now. If you are interested in adopting this pet you must first fill out our application to get pre-approved. We will check needed requirements and email or call with any questions. Upon approval we will speak over the phone, if all parties are in agreeance the pet could be a great fit for your home, we would work on scheduling the meet.    With the current virus happenings and a death in the foster family, it will take a bit before he can go to an  approved home. Everything is being handled one day at a time, we know our pets forever families will be excited and we will work out a plan.  Male Intake Date: 9/27/19   Pretty Boy appears to be a Ragdoll or Balinese. Each breed has cats that look identical to him. To some he would resemble a long haired Siamese. He is a BIG boy with all his long fur. His weight is around 13lbs. Adopter must be prepared for long haired cat and the upkeep and shedding.  Age estimated around 9 years. He is up to date on all vaccines, testing, neutered, and microchipped under the rescue.  Pretty Boy is very sweet. He loves to rub on people; will climb in your lap or face for attention. He is also a talker when he wants to speak to you. Link to a video of me on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RockersRescue/videos/769484226854568/.  Pretty Boy's History:       He came to us as an owner surrender with a huge wound. He was trapped under a home and his collar had gotten under his arm. The tags on his collar ripped his armpit open. It has taken months of healing and finally was able to be stitched up. We are happy to say our boy's wound is now healed. Further details will be explained to approved adopter  About Pretty Boy:   I am okay around other cats. I use to be housed with dogs but I currently avoid them in my foster home because they are too rambunctious for me. I am good with respectable kids. I love people and to get attention. I may climb in bed with you for a bit to snuggle. I also may hang out in your closet some, don't judge me, haha. I know how to talk and may use those powers. My rescue has a video of me talking from when I was at the vet once.  I am a very docile boy. At the vet I was always SO good when they treated my wounds with medicine and by shaving the area. They were surprised with how well I handled everything. I didn't like my stupid cone though. I made sure to sleep by foster moms head at night so that it might hit her and she would take it off. I finally got the cone of shame off and I am so happy. The rescue ladies tell me they can now find me a family that will ALWAYS love and protect me and never let me get hurt and put in a bad situation ever again. I can't wait to find my new family. Pretty Boy has been through so much. He deserves a home with excellent vet care and love. Intake date: April 9, 2018 Age estimated 1.5yrs -2yrs . Litterbox trained Child friendly. Dog and kitty friendly. She is up to date on all vaccines, testing, spayed, and microchipped.  I'm going to straight up and say it. This girl is our diva and we adore her! Everyone at events cracks up over her because they can tell she is a distinguished lady! If you want a queen in your home, Sapphire can be that for you. She will come to you for attention when she wants to and she will leave you alone as she pleases as well.  History:      In April of 2018 one of our foster moms took in two mommy kitties that each had kittens from our local kill shelter. One of those moms was Sapphire. This was likely her first time being pregnant which leads us to think she is very young as cats can have babies as early as 6 months old! We took the moms and babies under our rescue to prevent them from going back to the shelter environment. Sapphire and her babies were saved!  About:   Sapphire does good around other cats, dogs, and children. She's a friendly and independent girl. Enjoys attention but not one to be at your feet every second. Likes playing with toys. She loves to play in the bathroom! Also completely fine with taking a nap by a doggie friend or cuddling up with a kitty pal. Sapphire's ear is split due to a past injury before she was rescued.  Some Notes:   *This kitty   is to be an indoors kitty. <<< If you are after an indoors/outdoors or outdoors only kitty then this is not the right kitty for you. Just ask if you have questions on how microchips work. )   About Applying to Adopt:  This Kitty has a $40 adoption donation fee (microchip fee is included) This fee generally NEVER covers how much we actually spend on the animal. Story
Born 5/1/14  ~ 15lbs Beautiful boy with long fur. Breed unknown.  I use the litterbox.  I am currently housed with other kitties. I like other friendly kitties. I had a cat brother friend but he was adopted.  I don't mind dogs. I don't seem to be afraid of them.  I use to be an indoor/outdoor kitty. I have been kept indoors only for the past few years.   HISTORY: Stomper was initially acquired by one of our volunteers when he was a baby. His family was born under a house and dogs were trying to attack them. He was saved and later adopted. His adopters ended up having to move away and wanted to not bring some of their pets. When they called our volunteer, they asked her to take back Stomper AND their other cat, Chewie, as well.  We took in both boys. Chewie was recently adopted.      PERSONALITY: I may come off as shy to a new person but I come around. I like to run up to my foster mom for attention.  I love toys and windows. My foster mom says I'm super sweet and love attention. I will talk to her to greet her or if I'm ready for my food.  Most likely will be good with considerate children. I may get nervous and hide when new people come over. Keep in mind that cats with longer fur may shed more noticeably. As with most cats, I will have an adjustment period to get use to my new home and family.    *We also do not approve of declawing. We request that you research that. We have seen many cases where cats become irritable or stop using the litter box etc. and people try to surrender them to us.  Vetting:       Up to date on vaccinations and rabies vaccine. Kitty has been neutered.  Dewormed. Tested for Fiv/FeLV/Hw and was negative.   Will be Microchipped with lifetime registration    (that fee is included in adoption donation fee)    On 1 month revolution. REVOLUTION protects cats against fleas , heartworms , roundworms , hookworms,  and ear mites     . About Applying to Adopt:     This Kitten has a $40 adoption donation fee (microchip fee is included) This fee generally NEVER covers how much we have actually spend on the animal. Story
Our Rockers Rescue pets are currently in foster homes that help us save lives. When you choose to adopt from a rescue, you help open space for us to save another life in need. We are able to meet at PetSmart Shreveport. Thank you for considering adoption!  Paisley   Female kitten we raised as a bottle baby. She is up to date on all vaccines, testing, spayed, and microchipped. I was born around July.  Paisley actually resembles the kitten we added to our new rescue logo! So we like to say that the kitten on our logo IS little Paisley. There you have it....a star!  History:   Paisley was found in someones bush as a baby. A mother cat had kittens there and the home owners thought that Paisley had been left behind after the mom moved the rest of the kittens to a new location. They took her in and contacted us to put her under our rescue with a bottle feeder volunteer. Bottle feeder kittens often can pass away but Paisley thrived! She has had hands on experience with people since a baby so she is very friendly and playful. Paisley is a light gray with dark gray stripes and dots of orange mixed in.  About:   Hello, I'm Paisley! I was raised by the sweet people with Rockers Rescue! I spend my days playing with toys and my other foster kitty friends. I am spunky and love to cuddle and demand attention. I will rub on you and sit in your lap. Sometimes I may come visit you when your alarm goes off in the morning! I am fine with kids too, Im just a kid myself! I am a really friendly and playful kitten. Dogs don't phase me, I can ignore them and enjoy my day.  I went to an adoption event once and everyone wanted to adopt me! Only one family applied. They were approved and  I was adopted briefly but the families daughter was allergic so they had to return me to my rescue. Now I still need a home! I promise to make a family reallllly happy if they want a silly, fun, and loving kitty!  Some Notes:     *This kitty    is to be an indoors kitty. <<< If you are after an indoors/outdoors or outdoors only kitty then this is not the right kitty for you.
