Story
Sophia is a beautiful amazing cat. Due to relocating, I am unable to keep her. I want to find her a good warm home to go to. She likes to stay to herself, but isnt afraid to come around and rub on your leg. She loves to be rubbed and petted and told how pretty she is. She is about 4 years old, I will include her litter box, food, and bowls with the adoption.

Story
"I sure am hoping that my forever home is out there. Hi, my name is Leslie and I'm an older gal looking to spend my golden years with a nice, calm family. Can we work something out? Where you take me home and I love you with my whole heart? At about 10 years old, I'm just not into the hustle and bustle of city livin' and I was just hoping that I could settle down in your lap for awhile. I'm an easy going kitty and would love nothing more than to cuddle up with my person in the evenings. I am already litterbox trained. I also seem to be okay with other kitties and would probably do okay with older, gentle children. I'm not sure how I feel about dogs yet, so please speak with an adoption counselor if you have a dog at home. I am currently in a foster home and so I'm not at SVASC. If you're interested in learning more about me or possibly meeting me, please call SVASC at (540) 943-5142"

Story
"Hey friend! I'm a barn cat, which means I'm best suited for an outdoor home where I can do what I'm best at - mousing! With some time, I may come around a bit and enjoy human interaction, but for now, I'm most happy being left alone. It's recommended that I leave the shelter with another available barn cat, unless you already have a few established mousers at your home, that way I'm not inclined to wander. I'm already fixed and up to date on vaccines; I've also been microchipped. The best part? My adoption fee has been waived to an approved adopter! For more information on adding me to the family, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142 or stop by the shelter during open hours and ask about their Barn Cat Program. You can find a Barn Cat Application here: cognitoforms.com/ShenandoahValleyAnimalServicesCenter/barncatadoptionapplication"

Story
"Hello! My name is Sir Snots-A-Lot and I know what you're thinking. 'Well that's a gross name,' but believe me, I earned it. I am a 5-6 year old kitty and when I came in, I was in seriously rough shape. My finder though that I had Rabies! I'm just a little funny is all. Anyways, I had a pretty serious and scary upper respiratory infection which is how I got my name. It started as a joke and just kinda stuck. (Ask staff about seeing some of my pictures from when I first got to the shelter) I'm a super sweet boy and have become a total staff favorite! I do have some ongoing health issues which the shelter is working to address - it doesn't appear to be anything serious, so don't worry too much! I just have a pretty noticeable headtilt and walk a little funny. For more information on that, email Tracey at tmeadows.svasc@gmail.com. I am good with other kitties and older kids. My adoption fee is $35 to an approved adopter. I'm currently waiting for a home with a foster, so I'm not at SVASC. If you would like more information on me or would like to learn how to meet me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142 or email Tracey at tmeadows.svasc@gmail.com"

Story
"Ah finally, you're here! I've been stuck in this kennel for far too long. Did you bring the stuff? Carrier, toys... you're just missing adoption paperwork and then we're ready to bust out of here. My name is Hank and I'm a 4-5 year old kitty. I originally came to SVASC as a feral stray and actually found a nice barn home outdoors, but was recently brought back. "Why," you might be asking yourself. I wasn't so great at mousing because I was too busy trying to figure out how I could be an inside kitty. Turns out, being feral isn't really my thing. I would love to find a lovely indoor/outdoor home to call mine. I am a friendly boy, but can be pretty shy at first. It takes me a bit to trust, but once you earn my trust, man are we buddies. I love getting pets! Like I said, I am a bit timid, so I would likely benefit from having a kitty friend or two to lean on for some confidence. I would also like a home without any very young children, but teenagers are okay. My adoption fee is $35 to an approved adopter. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142 or stop by the shelter during open hours. SVASC is located at 1001 Mt. Torrey Rd. Lyndhurst, VA."
