Lotus was rescued after being hit by an 18 wheeler. She was left in the middle of the road, as cars went zooming by her. A passer by stopped and stepped in the middle of the road and drug Lotus to the side of the road, pleading out, this person was able to get the help of another dog angel to assist to put Lotus in the trunk of the car. Together, these 2 strangers drove to the next town to find vet. Miraculously s did not suffer any broken bones. But she did suffer internal bruising. After being on antibiotics and pain medication she has healed nicely and is ready for her Fur-Ever home. Lotus is affectionate, playful and full of energy. She is approximately 3 years old, has had all her vaccinations. She would thrive in a home where she has a fence and could also be part of a family. She does like to chase small animals, like rabbits, and is not fond of cats. She is very protective and would make an excellent guard dog. High energy and very loving, she is ready to love and protect you!

Reno came to us from a situation where many dogs where being dumped in the country and the property owner needed help. He is very laid back and sweet. He likes other dogs and does pretty good on a leash. He is a little shy meeting new people but does warm up quickly. Remington is a very sweet boy. He is around 2 years old. He needs a yard to run because he has a lot of energy. However he does like to also be a couch potato with you. He is crate trained and knows sit and shake. I just had a baby and I work two jobs so I don’t have time for him. I also live in an apartment and he really needs a yard or someone to walk him often. I love this dog very much but I want to do what’s best for him.

Shadow has been in his foster home only a short time. But in those few days / weeks, he’s shown how quickly he can become attached to “his” human! He’s a gentle guy, despite his 60 pounds. The vet has guessed him to be quite young (roughly 12 – 15 months old in early November.) Shadow gets along wonderfully with his foster’s 100lb Rottweiler mix, but two additional family dogs have recently joined the household, and they’ve decided they don’t like Shadow at all! Despite their attitudes toward him, he’s shown great restraint! He’s housetrained, but doesn’t appreciate a crate! He can be nervous, becoming startled at loud noises. He quickly learned how to “sit”, and his foster is working to teach him he doesn’t have to eat as if he were in a race! He’s a handsome, kind dog who would needs a family to love! If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Shadow is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
