It’s always “my goodness, what a chunky boy,” and never “Oh, King has a beautiful smile,” or “what a calm, easygoing boy.” Okay, yes, The Chow-Chow in him has made his middle rather thick…but its part of his look! 45lbs is perfectly normal for a medium sized dog thank you very much! King is very sweet and friendly, not to mention calm and gentle. He’s independent and happy to amuse himself. He has a lower energy level, until he sees the opportunity to play his favorite game: make the human chase me. He thinks it’s so funny! He’ll still happily let you pet him, he just wants to make sure you get some exercise too. He’s still pretty easy to put a leash on, and he walks well on that leash. King promises to be such a good, low maintenance friend to the lucky family that gets him!

Meet Maverick! This handsome chow chow is looking for his new love in life. Maverick had a very rough life to start. He has finally begun to figure out humans are OK. He definitely would do best as a companion dog. He is not the cuddly type but does enjoy attention on his terms. He will need someone that is familiar with the breed that can give him time, patience and space to warm up. Maverick enjoys the simple things in life, a ball or bone to chew on, two meals a day and a few snacks throughout if he gets his way! He has definitely come a long way and deserves a shot at finding a forever home to enjoy the good things (Food, toys and treats)! These are a vital part of his day to continue moving forward! He doesn’t mind other dogs and their company but prefers to play alone. No cats as to them they are squirrels and his prey drive goes in overdrive! This sweet boy is also very smart, and eager to please with a little tasty snack for motivation. He does know sit and stay, and knows to go to kennel. Maverick is approx 4 years old and about 55 lbs. Kobalt (Koby) is a handsome, 52 lb 2 year old boy with a thick, beautiful reddish-orange and white coat. He is very loving, cuddly, and will follow you like a shadow! He knows how to sit, walks very well on a leash, knows how to go in his kennel as long as you have a yummy treat in hand, and has no anxiety when crated. He is very food motivated and eager to please. He enjoys having toys, but loses interest quickly, and he has no interest in playing fetch- he would much rather lay down and chew on a bone or a bully stick. He will do best in a home without cats, small animals, or children. When excited and happy, he loves to spin and run around in circles. He definitely knows how to guard and protect his home with a powerful booming bark that will make any intruder second guess their intentions- however he does not bark when it isn't necessary. He can be uneasy about new people and situations, but once they gain his trust, he is sweet and as affectionate as can be! Hello Foxy Lady! Foxy is approx. 2-3 years and super petite at 30 lbs. She seems to do ok with docile dogs. She can be vocal at times with strangers and appears to like females much better than males. We feel she would do best in a low energy home with someone that will be able to work with her and let her be herself.
