Story
Bono's family moved to Canada and left him and his brother as strays at the pound. He is friendly and very loving, house broken, great around kids and knows a few commands like sit and lay down. He is seven years old and needs a new loving family. I saved him from being put to sleep but I rent my home and can not keep him.

Story
Mufasa, or "Mu as his foster family calls him, is a very special boy who came from a severe hoarding situation. He is learning to trust humans again and has made very significant strides in his foster home. He is thought to be approximately four years old and a Chow mix. He is still very timid and shy with people but is learning to trust slowly but surely. In fact, he is coming out of his shell very quickly! Mu needs a family who is willing to be patient and kind to him, to show him that people can be trusted. A family who is willing to give Mu time and space to come out of his shell, in turn, will certainly be rewarded because Mu is such a sweet boy and a very easy keeper. Mu gets along fabulously with other dogs and is the one of the most socially adept dogs we have seen. He is interested, playful, and forgiving of other dogs, and is very passive and responds very appropriately when another dog asks for space and is not taken aback when another dog is rude (he just moves away). Because of this, Mu would do best in a home with other dogs to spend time with and to learn from how to be a spoiled pet dog . Mu also gets along well with cats and has started playing calmly with his feline foster brother. Mu is house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is quiet, calm and polite. We have seen no problem behaviors from him whatsoever - no excessive barking, no house soiling, no getting into the trash, no counter-surfing, no pestering the cat, no scratching or chewing things he should not. His only current issue is that he is very timid and he is making great strides in that department. Mu will likely never be a "take anywhere dog, a dog who can be trusted off leash outside of a fenced yard, or a dog who is outgoing with people, but he is the sweetest dog and so adorable. He likes to play with toys and will throw both of his front paws down in an exaggerated bow chasing after them. If you've been thinking your current dog(s) needs a playmate and are looking for a low maintenance easy companion for your current furry buddy, Mu may be a perfect fit.

Story
Bear was spotted by several Good Samaritans wandering the streets. Dogs Deserve Better was able to track down his original owners who realized it was time for Bear to move on to a new life. Bear is full of joy and is energetic for a senior. He is heartworm positive and at this time his medical staff does not believe he is a candidate for heartworm treatment. He is showing some symptoms of heartworm disease, so Bear will likely be looking for a hospice home. He has been neutered and is now up to date on vaccines.

Story
After suffering a devastating miscarriage three years ago, I came upon a picture of a young dog that needed a new home due to the owners moving and not being able to take both of their dogs. When we met him, he was nervous but allowed me to pet him. After considering where we were in life, we decided to welcome Captain America into our family. He was a great addition. He quickly attached himself to me and became a sweet source of comfort while I grieved our loss. He tends to be nervous around males at first, but once he is comfortable, he is a silly and great playmate. He loves treats, fetching, and getting belly rubs. The sad part of our story with Captain is that I have been having skin issues connected to my allergies that have been getting progressively worse. I have known that I was allergic to dogs, but it has never been this bad! Sadly, we have come to the realization that we need to have hypoallergenic dogs in our home. :( Captain will be a great addition to any home!
