Story
Hi, my name is McFlurry and I am a chill little man looking for a new home. I am a 3-year-old Cocker Spaniel mix with a freshly groomed white and tan coat and striking light blue eyes that resemble a tropical sea. I can be nervous with new people and situations, so I would like to find an adult-only home that will go slowly and allow me the necessary time to warm up. A pet parent who is interested in training would also be great as I am deaf and would love to start learning sign cues for deaf dogs. Even though I am shy, I enjoy the company of people and will make good eye contact when I feel comfortable (or if hot dogs are involved!); I will most likely be a pro at learning visual cues. Here at the shelter, I am such a well-mannered boy with the other dogs. I do well with my dog friends of all sizes, both big and small. And when I am not tagging along at playgroup with the other dogs, I enjoy stretching out in the shade to just people/dog watch. To help me feel comfortable and to build up my confidence, I will need to be adopted into a home with another dog who can act as my big brother or sister and show me the ropes. Please, visit me today if you think I could be a sweet addition to your family!

Story
If you are interested in adopting this beautiful cocker, please go to our website for more info: www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/. Hunter came into the rescue very scared and fearful a few months ago. He was returned to us because he was fearful of the men in his home and men in general. He was scared of all people and dogs the first day in his foster home but becomes more relaxed and comfortable each day. Hunter uses a dog door and loves to go on walks which will help him lose the extra weight he gained. Hunter is jealous of his foster mom's attention to one of her dogs. This behavior seems to decrease day by day as Hunter learns to trust his foster mom and the dogs in his foster home. Hunter is a playful, affectionate, and handsome cocker mix that would do well in a home with a female, a backyard, and another dog companion. This dog wants to please and has an engaging personality.  Hunter is good with women, but not so much with men. Story
If you are interested in adopting this beautiful cocker, please go to our website for more info: www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/. Harpo is a wonderful dog who has had to overcome some fears in his short life. He came to RMCR through an out-of-state shelter after having been a stray. The shelter was such a frightening place for Harpo he shut down and could not be touched or handled for several days. With time and a patient shelter staff, Harpo began to trust. Once in the foster home he blossomed even more and has become a loving and consistant companion. He loves being with other dogs and having a large yard to run in. Harpo will get skittish with new people and was frightened at the vet. He will need time to become comfortable with a new home and family but that can be worked out by doing a few home visits and extened stay-overs before the adodption. This would mean that an adopter should be in the general Denver area so this transition can take place. This precious freckle-faced boy has stolen my heart. (Approx. Story
If you are interested in adopting this beautiful cocker, please go to our website for more info: www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/. Shrek is a character and has not had much interaction with too many people. He has only seen his two caregivers. He loves to be petted and talked to. He gently jumps up and puts his paws on your knees or nuzzles you softly for attention. He wants to always be where you are. He does not jump on couch and prefers to sleep on the floor beside your bed. He is watchful of his people and can be protective. He walks well on the leash and loves his walks. Foster and Shrek are working on house training and it is getting better. Shrek loves to fetch ball and play. He is not a fan of car rides and will balk when asked to get in car.....no thanks is his response. This sweet boy deserves the best of homes. Story
Hi there! I was recently rescued by National Mill Dog Rescue, and my dedicated care team is still learning all about me. The intake team said I am sweet, friendly and weigh 34 pounds. Please check back soon to read my biography. Meanwhile you can learn more about the organization that rescued me here: http://milldogrescue.org - - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 6 years old; homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Please contact RMCR (Inquiries@RockyMountainCockerRescue.org) for more information about this pet. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful cocker, please go to our website for more info: www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/. Hi, I'm Katsuo and I'm a pretty sweet little guy. I tend to be timid at first and bark at strangers, but once I warm up to you, I love being petted and getting belly rubs. I could cuddle all day long. I am a total ladies man and love them all! Men, on the other hand, I get pretty nervous around so I might do better in a home that doesn't have any. I like my foster siblings as well, though I'm a typical velcro dog and generally hang out where the people are, you know, in case someone needs a lap warmed. I enjoy my daily walks, although I'm still trying to learn how not to pull on the leash. My foster mom says I just need to keep practicing. I do know some basic commands like sit and stay, and learned how to use the doggy door like a pro. Now I just need a great family to call my own.
