Please contact RMCR (Inquiries@RockyMountainCockerRescue.org) for more information about this pet. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful cocker, please go to our website for more info: www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/. Blinky is very sweet, and a brave little fellow. He may not be able to see, but this doesn't stop him. He enjoys several walks a day, where he jogs and looks to identify all the flowers and bushes around him; what a sense of smell! He gets a little frightened when other dogs approach him, so his foster parents stick to areas where he can be adventurous all by himself. Blinky would thrive in a home where his family likes the coziness of home and routine. He likes to sleep near his family and hang out where they are. He's very vocal when he's left alone. He's such a smart fellow, he can navigate the home very easily, especially to find food and his family! He has always enjoyed being petted, and is now starting to reach out to his foster mom and dad for extra affection. He's really a joy and inspiration!  (Est. DOB: 1/2009) Leash Trained, Independent, Intelligent, Even-tempered, Gentle, Good for seniors, Fully Blind, Good with families or stay at home people, Good with submissive dogs   Our dogs are temporarily housed in pre-screened, loving foster homes while waiting their new forever home. They are also micro-chipped, groomed (if needed), and given a thorough professional veterinary exam to identify any health issues or potential issues. Story
Please contact RMCR (Inquiries@RockyMountainCockerRescue.org) for more information about this pet. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful cocker, please go to our website for more info: www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/. I came to RMCR as a stray in awful shape. Despite being in pain due to health issues, all who met me said I was such a sweetie, so SWEETIE became my name. I’m getting good care now, but some things can’t be fixed. I am mostly deaf and my eyes had to be removed due to glaucoma; yet it’s awesome how I navigate my way around Foster Mom’s house to be with her, to the back door to go out, and to the kitchen at mealtime! Issues with my hips may not be operable due to my age (guessed to be 9-10) and because of some vertebrae in my spine; but I get around well for now and am doing some exercises and rehab to see if it will help. Foster Mom believes I must have been left alone a lot since I always want to be close, whether it be at her feet, lying by her on the couch, or snuggling on her bed at night (I hate being crated). If you have room in your home and heart for a gentle and endearing dog with special needs, maybe we should meet! House Trained,  Crate Trained,  Hearing Impaired,  Fully Blind, Ongoing Medical Care,  Leash Trained, Rides Well in Car, Lap Dog, Even-tempered, Gentle, Good with Cats, No kids due to her health issues, GOOD with ALL dogs, Good with All Adults       Our dogs are temporarily housed in pre-screened, loving foster homes while waiting their new forever home.
Howie is a young, 34 lb male Spaniel mix with short ears and a long tail. He is extremely sweet with his people and other adults he trusts. He is energetic, leash trained, house trained. He likes chewing bones, playing fetch, and being outside. Howie doesn't like it when new people come over to the house. Howie needs to be crated when guests come over and will bark at guests. He can be let out after he calms down, but it is best to use a muzzle when he is around strangers in his home. He is better outside of the home on walks as he does not bark at other dogs or people on walks. He is timid in new situations. Howie would do best as an only dog in an active home with teens fifteen and older. He can be crated for short periods, but does best having someone home most of the time. Howie sleeps in a crate, on a dog bed, or in his people's bed. Howie is very affectionate and needs lots of touch. He knows basic commands and is generally obedient. Howie is currently on Prozac for anxiety.  Crate-Trained, Ongoing Medical Care, Leash Trained, Likes to Fetch, Likes Toys, Lap Dog, Protective/Territorial, Obedient,Playful, Timid/Shy, Skittish, Affectionate, Eager to Please, Intelligent, Gentle, Is best as an only dog, No Kids under 15, NOT good with LARGE dogs, Not good with any new dog in his house (Est. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful cocker, please go to our website for more info: www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/. Buddy is bonded to Casey C, and they have never been seperated. Buddy is very sweet and easy going. He is completely blind from chronic eye issues. He has learned his way around the house and yard very well. He has developed urinary incontinence and needs to wear a belly band in the house to control house-soiling. He will also have some stool soiling in the house. We know that Buddy has an enlarged prostate and a mass of unknown origin in his abdomen. Buddy plays with balls and happily chews bones. He is a silly and happy little dog who seeks human companionship frequently. Buddy loves to be petted and cuddled. He is hesitant on the leash but will follow once he trusts his handler. There is a lot to love in this little bundle of joy! Buddy and Casey snuggle in the same doggie bed, and Casey licks and grooms Buddy frequently. Even though Buddy has cronic health issues he is enjoying life every day. (Est. Story
Please contact RMCR (Inquiries@RockyMountainCockerRescue.org) for more information about this pet. If you are interested in adopting this beautiful cocker, please go to our website for more info: www.RockyMountainCockerRescue.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/. Cooper is an outgoing, friendly, active 18 lb adult Cocker/Poodle mix, though he leans a bit closer to the Poodle side. Since coming to RMCR as an owner-surrender, Cooper has had a dental cleaning, and vet care for his chronic dry eye and glaucoma. Unfortunately, Cooper's eyes did not respond to intensive vet care, and per the recommendations of three vets, both eyes were removed at the end of July 2019. This gave Cooper relief from constant discomfort and eye pain, and resulted in a better quality of life. He is gaining confidence and will explore the house on his own, though he does bump into things. He is continuing to work on basic commands, and loves to get special treats. Cooper loves to play fetch, and we have been practicing playing fetch on a smaller scale. He seems very happy to be able to play again. He still likes to be held daily and puts his head on my shoulder. Cooper is house trained, but needs supervision while outside. (Est. DOB: 6/2013) Likes to Fetch, Likes Toys, Lap Dog, Obedient, Playful, Affectionate, Eager to Please, Intelligent, Even-tempered, Gentle, Crate Trained, Fully Blind, No Kids under age 5, Good with most dogs   Our dogs are temporarily housed in pre-screened, loving foster homes while waiting their new forever home.
