7 year old Cash is happy and ready to go and loves ear rubs and hugs. He knows sit, walks with pulling on leash and gets along with other dogs, cats and children. As a senior dog his adoption fee is waived for adopters 65 years old and older and $20 for everyone else. If you are interested in adopting a new pet from the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter, please fill out an application at https://pets.georgetown.org/adoption/adoption-contract/ and then e-mail it to animalsvc@georgetown.org . This is a temporary change to operations put in place to protect visitors, volunteers, and staff. Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule an appointment to meet available dogs and cats. Please contact the shelter with any additional questions The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates). Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*. The adoption fee includes: spaying/neutering vaccinations (appropriate to species and age) heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age) de-worming medication microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly) There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown. Story
Sitter Needed: 05/22/2024 - 05/24/2024 Introducing Littleman, a handsome and adorable Collie mix. Littleman does great in his playpen, and is fine when you want to run errands worry-free. He is a playful pup, and enjoys playing with toys and his canine friends. You will know he's happy because he wags his tail like crazy. Littleman is a special needs pup, and will need someone to commit to him for a lifetime as he has neurological involvement, and is unable to walk. But he still gets around and commando crawls to get where he is going. He really enjoys going out in his doggy stroller for walks. Do you have a big heart, and a fur-ever home to give to Littleman? Come meet Littleman today, he would love to wag his tail at you!

Story
We adopted Cici about 3 years ago, which would make her about 5. A lot has changed in our family since then. New house, new baby, and a puppy. She and our older dog are not getting along anymore . She is super sweet and responsive to attention. Kids will annoy her sometimes. She has no problems with our cat. I believe the ideal environment would be the only dog, or a household where dominance won't be an issue.

These pups are in Cedar Park, Texas too!

Story
Ms. Oscar is a Rescue. My son said when he rescued her that the only name she would respond to was Oscar......But since she’s a girl, I added the Ms., LOL. She is a super sweet, loving Indoor dog that loves people young and old, and would do best as an only pet. She is a big scaredy cat - she is severely scared of fireworks and lawn care equipment so it’s best to keep her inside. She is very gentle and well trained and wants luv’ins all the time💜. She doesn’t chew or disrupt anything in the home but does like TUFF plush dog toys & she also loves car rides. We really hate to have to re-home her, but my nephew has moved in with us and is allergic. We tried placing her outside but she cries to be let inside because she has been an indoor dog for the last 4 years. We hope to find her a new family home that can give her the love and lifestyle she deserves.

Story
We adopted Doe in 2016. Her (estimated) birthday is October 15th. She just turned 3. Doe is a very calm dog until she gets outside. She loves going on runs and chasing squirrels. She also loves to help our daughter with her homework and be the bull when they play rodeo. She has been a wonderful addition to our family but we have to relocate and are unable to have pets at our new home. Because Doe loves squirrels so much she will sometimes jump our back fence.

Story
Freckles is a great dog with a need for room to run and play. We adopted her at 5 months and just didn't realize how active she would become with the requirement of much exercise. We are unable to provide as much as needed. She's a smart dog and would be great with an active family. I think herding cows should be in her future! At least she tries to do it with our grandchildren!
