Meet Mondo, an extremely adorable, social, silly and playful Coonhound in need of a loving family. He is estimated to be around 6 years old and weighs in at 51 pounds. He is still on the thin side however and his ideal weight is closer to 60 pounds. This fellow was rescued from a high-intake animal control facility in rural KY. Like most hounds, Mondo is a happy-go-lucky pooch who loves to make new friends, human and canine alike! He is extremely affectionate and loves to cuddle and give kisses. He also does well with other dogs. We have discovered that Mondo can climb over fences that are less than 5 feet tall, so he will need to be in a home with a tall fence or with a family that can commit to leash-walking him. Mondo is crate trained and does excellent with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. He will be a fantastic family dog for a household looking for a tolerant, good-natured and fun-loving companion. Mondo is in a foster home in Chicago and he can be seen by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. Lenny is a three-year-old, strong-willed, high-energy, well-trained, 50-pound, Black and Tan Coonhound-mix looking for a loving guardian. Lenny is great with other dogs and is looking for a strong handler to help direct his energy. He is perfectly housebroken and actually enjoys his crate, so it’s a great place for him to be kept when visitors uncomfortable with dogs arrive. Lenny has been professionally-trained and included in his adoption is a training class and a few private training lessons (when the pandemic is over). He is loyal and loving to his people, but distrustful of strangers at first. He’s looking for a loving person or adult who can help guide him and keep him safe. He’s great in the car and is good on leashed walks. His adoption fee of $275 benefits Rescue. He is very healthy, microchipped, vaccinated, de-wormed, neutered, heartworm-tested and on monthly preventative. Story
Bryant is a very high maintenance dog. He had a lot of changes in his home and has become very destructive. (Chewing up anything he can find) He has always been around kids, but has just recently started snapping at them. I don't trust him with kids anymore. I believe he would do best in a home where he is rarely alone. He can't be put in a kennel because he has so much anxiety that he will injure himself trying to get out. He loves people and wants to be where you are at all times. I believe his chewing is because he is mad that he is alone. Before I worked, he rarely chewed things up. He needs a very patient and experienced owner. He does get along with female dogs but has never been around another male.

6 year old male named Sonny, also responds to Bubba. Very friendly and extremely active! Does well with older children, tends to trample anything smaller than himself. Would be a perfect fit for someone without young children and someone who can keep up with how active he is. Good with other dogs, not sure about cats but I'm sure he'd be good with cats also as he is a very friendly dog.
