Though no traumatic experience has ever happened to Kash he's a very sensitive guy that will to find just the perfect home. We will be very selective and a new family must also be able to support his probable food allergy. We are working with the vet to get this under control. Story
Nemo had been in a car accident when he was found and brought to the shelter. His original family were notified but they abandoned him because they couldn’t afford the medical expenses. When I brought him home he was still quite weak. A year later, he is cheerful and active and loves going for walks and chasing squirrels. His rear right leg will never completely heal because the achilles’ tendon was severed, but he has no problem putting weight on it. He even jumps on his back legs like a rabbit when he’s excited. He has a custom leg brace that he wears for walks to protect his heel from scraping on the ground, but he’s perfectly able to walk without it. Nemo doesn’t chew or play with toys, he’s happiest when he’s in your lap or sitting next to you. He loves to cuddle. Needs a home with lots of people around to give him attention. He is happy to be crated when home alone, as long as it isn’t for long periods. He usually takes two 15 minute walks a day. Nemo is 9 years old and 20 lbs.

Story
Sherman is a great 8 year old mix breed that we adopted at 3 months old from the Warren County Dog Warden. He's been my "fur baby" since day one and has spent almost every night sleeping in the crook of my arm with his head on my shoulder. Because of this he has not taken well to our now 1 1/2 year old. Now whenever we leave we have to crate him because he's destructive but the crate gives him so much anxiety that we have to give him anxiety meds before we leave for work everyday. He's been such a good dog that it's just not fair to make him live like that. He is very very sweet and snuggly He loves going on adventures (especially car rides). Is great with elementary school age and above kids. Generally doesn't bark. Loves being outside A good home for him is one where he's really the owner's sidekick and doesn't stay home alone for long.

Story
As I was sitting with this girl yesterday, I was reflecting on several of the "tough" dogs we've accepted into the rescue, and have found their phenomenal forever homes. We have a soft spot for the underdog. We have a tremendous support network including all of you, and we have some outstanding foster homes, and we know we have the support and knowledge of Dogsmartz Unleashed for our dogs. We've taken the ones that may need a bit more medical than normal, maybe more behavior quirks. We've taken in many seniors that others passed by. If you've followed our page for awhile, take a minute and think about them... Alex, Andy, Diesel, Buster, Katie, and Bobo to name a few. So we bring you the story of Gidget. Gidget is a 6 year old corgi mix, who has stories to tell. Not all of them good. She's been bounced around, and has lost the only family she's ever known. And that's not the worst part- Gidget is deaf and has limited vision. She can see straight ahead, but her peripheral vision isn't good. We aren't sure, but believe this will get progressively worse. She jumps and is mouthy, for attention... who can blame her, she wants attention so bad. She needs manners, and is in class at Dogsmartz Unleashed. We know with the right home, a stable patient environment, she will feel comfortable and learn her way around. She just wants to be loved. She loves to be held. She loves to be told everything will be ok. She craves attention. We really need to find her the right forever home. We will work with the family, and enroll her in classes at Dogsmartz Unleashed. Please help us make Gidgets dreams come true- she certainly deserves to know the love and comfort of a forever family. Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1 1/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue. ADOPTION FEE's: Puppies under 6 months: $199.00 Adults: $150.00 Seniors (over 7 yrs): $99.00 If you are interested in one of our dogs please fill out an application: https://form.jotform.com/193425528783165
