Story
As I was sitting with this girl yesterday, I was reflecting on several of the "tough" dogs we've accepted into the rescue, and have found their phenomenal forever homes. We have a soft spot for the underdog. We have a tremendous support network including all of you, and we have some outstanding foster homes, and we know we have the support and knowledge of Dogsmartz Unleashed for our dogs. We've taken the ones that may need a bit more medical than normal, maybe more behavior quirks. We've taken in many seniors that others passed by. If you've followed our page for awhile, take a minute and think about them... Alex, Andy, Diesel, Buster, Katie, and Bobo to name a few. So we bring you the story of Gidget. Gidget is a 6 year old corgi mix, who has stories to tell. Not all of them good. She's been bounced around, and has lost the only family she's ever known. And that's not the worst part- Gidget is deaf and has limited vision. She can see straight ahead, but her peripheral vision isn't good. We aren't sure, but believe this will get progressively worse. She jumps and is mouthy, for attention... who can blame her, she wants attention so bad. She needs manners, and is in class at Dogsmartz Unleashed. We know with the right home, a stable patient environment, she will feel comfortable and learn her way around. She just wants to be loved. She loves to be held. She loves to be told everything will be ok. She craves attention. We really need to find her the right forever home. We will work with the family, and enroll her in classes at Dogsmartz Unleashed. Please help us make Gidgets dreams come true- she certainly deserves to know the love and comfort of a forever family. Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-1 1/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $100.00 of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue. ADOPTION FEE's: Puppies under 6 months: $199.00 Adults: $150.00 Seniors (over 7 yrs): $99.00 If you are interested in one of our dogs please fill out an application: https://form.jotform.com/193425528783165

Story
Max is around 8-9 years old, a corgi/terrier and possibly pit mix. He is up to date on all vaccinations. Max is a fun dog who needs more exercise and physical stimulation than we can give with our schedules. He is very smart and LOVES to be around other dogs. He can get overexcited and a bit protective of his toys but we have been told that's because he just needs more exercise and attention. He likes to run around the house with a ton of energy. He could use a family that can spend much more time with him. Our living arrangements will also be changing within the year and will probably not allow us to keep Max in the way he needs. Max is crate trained and loves to cuddle on the couch in the evenings. We will be very careful about who gets to live with him.
