Story
This is a sweet boy that likes his belly rubbed. Needs someone who can give him time and attention. Still needs some training with basics. Will sit and lay down. We took this dog for what was to be two weeks while the owner moved but have found out they are not coming back for him. We have had him for a month. We all ready have two cranky small dogs that want nothing to do with him. Just needs more attention than we can give him.

Story
Isabela was abandoned in North Carolina in the woods. For almost a year a friend of mine tried to catch her. She was wild, hurt and had a skin disease. She was terrified of people specially men. My friend couldn't keep her so when I moved to NC in 2015, I took her in temporarily. I already had four other rescue dogs but my house in NC had a huge back yard. In 20018 we moved into a townhouse in Colorado with a small patio. It is hard to keep all of 5 them in such small environment. We are ready to move again and this time we really need to downsize. Isabela is incredible smart, learns so quickly, and is very active. She needs exercise daily by walking running, exploring outdoors. She loves running! I am torn up about finding a home for her but she needs an owner that can provide her what she needs. She is particularly driven to females and gets attached easily. She is well behaved and very sweet. My mom will kill me if she finds out she is for adoption.

Story
Toby Wayne would love a home of his own! This 2 yr. young man weighs only about about 40 lbs, so he'll fit anywhere. He loves everyone he meets, is very smart and extremely food motivated. Toby is working on several commands as sit, down, come and off. Our cuddler boy loves to learn. He is dog selective but he does great with neutral female or male dogs of his same size. Toby has a high prey drive so smaller animals are not good for him. Toby loves to play ball and will do it all day if you want to play all day. He is good on the leash, is housebroken and crate-trained. Since Toby has lots of energy he would do best with an active owner and a 6 ft or higher fence would be best. Currently located in Lubbock, TX. For more information, contact Lauren at info@savinggracepitbullrescue.org. Adoption $400.  If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed.

Story
Kai is a beautiful girl base white with several large black spots coming from a TX shelter. No, not a Dalmatian really, but a wonderful, friendly, mindful girl. She is good with dogs and people, is mellow and great in the house and the car. She walks with her foster dad several times a day and can be turned loose in the pasture and stays close and always comes when called. She adores children and we assume that she would be fine with cats too with a proper introduction. She is just a sweet girl to everyone and everyone she has met so far. For more information, contact Jim at jimpew@uwyo.edu. Adoption $300.   If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Story
Sandy is the sweetest little one and a half-year-old Dalmatian Wannabe. This girl came to us sick with the most horrible skin condition. She was practically naked, so much fur was missing! Lucky for Sandy, we understood this was more of a cosmetic issue and would clear up well with some meds, quality nutrition, and a lot of love. Sandy has undergone a Cinderella transformation and is ready to go to the ball! She’s absolutely beautiful now. Sandy is good with most dogs but can occasionally be selective with some. She is not good with cats. She has a very high energy dog and would do best with an owner experienced with a similar type of dog. Dalmatians, border collies, and Terrier owners would all be familiar with the type of energy Sandy exhibits. Some people would definitely find her too much, while others would love the possibilities that come with a dog like Sandy. She might be perfect for a jogger or someone into dog sports. This high energy level does not make Sandy a good match for a home with small children. As a heavy chewer, plastic squeaky toys don’t last long with her! She needs strong dog bones to chew. Despite this, Sandy loves plush toys and blankets for cuddling. She loves to sit close to you while she chews her bone or plays with her toys. She will definitely be a great companion for her new family. Sandy walks well on the leash but she should have lots of outlets to safely run off-leash and play to burn off her puppy energy. After Sandy’s Cinderella transformation, this baby girl deserves to find her prince charming or fairy godmother to give her a loving, happily ever after. For more information about Sandy please contact Tena at tjp@mygrande.net. Her adoption fee is $250.  If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed.

Story
Sometimes we stretch the definition of Dalmatian when we accept dogs into our rescue. Skittles is one of these cases. We’re calling him a hound mix with “a hint of Dalmatian”. This two-year-old boy was saved from the shelter’s euthanasia list with only minutes to spare! But he was so friendly and look, he has a couple of Dalmatian type spots on one ear! Skittles is deaf but this happy boy doesn’t let that hold him back. He will need a safe, fenced-in play area and lots of on-leash exercise. His new owner will be encouraged to train him with hand signals and preference will be given to adopters familiar with deaf dogs. Skittles gets along well with other dogs. This happy, energetic young boy is guilty of jumping up and will need gentle training to stop this behavior. But Skittles is crate trained, and does know “sit“. and he’s very willing to learn more! His exuberance and need for training makes us feel Skittles should be placed in a home without young children. Adults, possibly with teenagers, would be preferred. More than anything, Skittles loves cuddles and belly rubs. He came to us heartworm positive but is responding well to treatment which should be completed soon. To learn more about Skittles, contact Tena at tjp@mygrande.net. His adoption fee is $250.  If interested in this dog, please go to www.dalmatianrescueco.org and submit an application for adoption. Under Adoptions, please read our adoption policy.  We must have an application before we can begin the adoption process and each dog does have foster contact listed.
