Story
Welcome Rey Rey. She is a 1.5-year-old Staffordshire/Dalmatian blend is our guess. She is about 45 to 50 pounds full grown. This girl was found with her puppies. She was the most amazing momma dog. She wouldn’t leave the puppies side for 6 weeks. She would literally just leave for the most necessary things and then back in to be with her pups. I think being a deaf momma had it’s challenges because she couldn’t hear her babies cries. She had them in the wild before being taken in and she needed to keep them safe. Incredible foster moms took her and the pups in. She helped the family and all the puppies have found homes now. The foster for Rey Rey has come to CCPAL for help finding the momma a home. She is a deaf dog and is working on hand commands with her foster family. She is good on a leash, likes car rides, she is good in a crate, potty trained, good with other dogs and protective of her family and what she considers her people. She would be a great dog for a family. She has been around an 11-year-old and a 3-year-old and she loves the kids. We would say kids that are 7 or older as a general rule on all adult dogs. She would be great with a family that has had a deaf dog or someone that is deaf and knows the challenges that you face. She will need a fenced yard as recall is not possible. She is great on a leash so walking her will be easy. She is up on her shots, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She loves car rides. She recently was spayed and had a tick removed from her ear canal and a small cyst from the other ear. She still cannot hear but now she has perky upright ears. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to deliver her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. See her cute video!!

We are still accepting applications for available dogs but are delaying in-person meet and greets due to the ‘stay at home’ policy. Thank you for your support.  DOB:  01/01/2010 Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Yes Okay with children under 12 years old: Yes Requires a fenced yard:  Yes Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hi, my name is Perdita!  I’m a senior Dalmation aging gracefully into my golden years.  I can be a little timid at first glance, but once I get to know you, I will gladly accept any and all attention you may have for me!  Can I suggest a neck rub?  Those are my absolute favorite!  I’m learning to play with my foster sister and she’s teaching me how to play with toys.  I’m sure I’ll figure them out soon! I am potty trained; pretty rad, right?  I’m also a pro on the leash, so that’s two gold stars for me!  I do well in the crate, but I get annoyed if you leave me in it while you’re in the house and I’m not afraid to let you know it.  I know a couple of commands, but I’m sure I can learn more.  I do prefer a fenced yard as I love the freedom to run and run and run! I’m a very good girl, who enjoys her family and gets along well with other dogs.  I get along with cats too; I’ll give them a nice lick here and there!  I may be a little nervous around loud noises and fast movements, but once I’m comfortable, I will make the most wonderful companion to any home!   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Name: Brodie DOB: 9/13/17 Weight: 48 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 Hi! I am young dog looking for my forever home! I am a super energetic and would love a family that wants to do activities! I'm very food motivated which is awesome for training. I crate very well, especially over night and for short times during the day. My effervescence can be over whelming for dogs so I need to be with dogs who wont be upset with my energy or be the only pet in the home. I do well in a fenced yard since I love to run and play all day! Older kids would be great so I can keep up with them. I'd knock over anyone under 10. I love smart puzzle toys to keep my attention, especially when they dispense treats.  I am physically fit, very smart and food motivated. My foster moms thinks I would do great with a fun job/ sport like  dog agility, dock diving, disc dog etc. Do I sound like the boy for your family??   Note from Brodies foster mom about his needs:  - Exercise, physical and brain stimulation -Since he is dog selective and can get rough with other dogs, maybe an only dog home -Room to run -Someone who doesnt mind his energy, his jumping, wanting to crawl all over them, he is like a Bull in a China Shop -His need to be by people -He's not a fan of chasing balls -He takes a while to go potty due to him smelling everything -He may knock over younger kids  -Someone who can give him as much love as he has to give, that's ALOT!!   * Brodie is on a daily medication to help control his borderline addisons disease.    An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Name: Connally AKA Nelly DOB: 3/5/2016 Weight: 28 lbs Adoption Fee: 375.00  Hey everyone! My name is Connally, but you can call me Nelly.  I love snuggling on the couch with my foster mom and just being with people in general! Any time my foster mom is sitting down I HAVE to be next to her or in her lap. I also love playing with my squeaker toys and sometimes I like stealing blankets too and running around with them! I’m not a big fan of my foster sisters and a home with humans to love all to myself would make me happiest. I’m a little nervous going in my kennel but food is a good motivator for me! Sometimes I bark but it’s only a few times then I realize how comfy my blankets are and go to sleep. My foster mom says she's very happy with how I behave in my kennel. I LOVE being outside. Sadly with my heartworm treatment I’m on restriction so I can’t go play but there’s so many smells! I’m so excited for that to be done so I can play and go for long walks outside. Walks were one of my favorite things when I was in Texas!   I do get nervous meeting new people, so boy am I excited about social quarantine. I think once I find my people to trust, I can open up to others. I have come a long way to be here, now I just need a family to be patient and let me open up on my own time.  Since Nelly is heartworm positive she will need to be treated in at our clinic in Princeton. Heartworm treatment consists of 3 injections. The first injection will be in roughly 30 days after coming into rescue. The the 2nd and 3rd injections happen 30 days after that. When a dog is going through heartworm treatment, they should be on "restrictions", meaning a lot of lap time, crate time and always on a leash. Heartworm disease is NOT contagious, it is transported via mosquitos.   Here is a great article explaining what heartworm is and how it's treated: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.  All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).
