Story
Please meet sweet Sparkle, the Disney Dog!  Sparkle is a retriever/Dalmatian mix, and she is just precious.  We call her the Disney Dog because she has the most beautiful eye liner and expressive eyes, which make her look like one of the 101 Dalmatians. Sparkle is such a sweet girl and just loves her people and other dogs.  Sparkle is housetrained.  She is not a fan of her crate, but she is a good girl when left alone in the house.  A lot of times, Sparkle's foster mom will find her waiting by the window when she comes home. When her foster mom is home, Sparkle will nudge the back door when she needs to go potty.  Even though Sparkle does not like to be locked up in a crate, she does enjoy sleeping in hers when the door is left open.  Many nights, she will go to bed in her foster mom’s bedroom and end up sleeping in her crate in the dining room.   Sparkle is also wonderful with kids.  She is so gentle around them and even listens to their commands.  Sparkle also gets along with her 4-legged foster siblings and LOVES to play with them.  She is not a cat person, so no cats or other small animals!   Sparkle has a lot of energy when appropriate and LOVES to run.  She does have a bit of thunderphobia, but we are working on desensitizing her to that. She would do well in a home with kids and/or other dogs. She likes the activity and loves nothing more than to lie next to you and cuddle.  She knows when it's time to play versus when it's time to just hang out in the house and be calm.   Sparkle also LOVES (she loves a lot of things!) squeaky toys and enjoys playing with them a lot.  She also enjoys a short game of fetch.  She will bring the object to you, and if you ask for it, she will let it go.  She will do this about 4 or 5 times, and then she just prefers to chew on the toy.  So cute.   Sparkle knows basic commands and will follow them if she is awarded with treats. She walks great on a leash as well.  What a great girl!   If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please contact us at info@scoutshonor.org. To read about Scout's Honor's adoption procedures or to fill out an application for Sparkle, please visit our website at www.scoutshonor.org. Meet our sweet, lovable senior girl Sparkle. Don’t be fooled by “senior” this girl still has plenty of energy, love and spunk to last a long, long time.  Sparkle has been with us a long time, not because she is ever anything less than a total lovebug, but because she came to us with extreme thunderphobia. And we will tell you all about the beginning if you are truly interested, but nowadays her foster has a plan that seems to be working. On stormy days Sparkle either goes to doggie daycare or her mom works from home. The key is too not leave her alone during storms. Sparkle LOVES other dogs and would do best in a home with a canine sibling. She loves kids too and has even learned to live with a cat. Sparkle is now about 9-10 years old, about 45-50 pounds and is a Dalmatian, retriever mix. She loves toys and playing fetch. She hates crates and being confined but is a good girl left out in the house (without storms ) Sparkle is up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting this sweet senior girl just fill out the application and we will be in touch soon.

Story
Annabeth is a very sweet 4yr old Catahoula female. She is spayed and microchipped and up to date on her rabies shot. She has never shown any kind of aggression towards people or other dogs. All she wants is to cuddle and be loved on. Annabeth needs a lot of attention or adequate exercise to be happy. She will be happiest in a home with another dog to keep her company. We are looking to rehome her because her need for attention and pets has made her a problem with our newborn son. She does not look to harm him but in her quest for attention she has accidentally scratched him and as a new mom I can not handle the fear of her accidentally harming him again because she is being neglected and it’s not fair to her to be constantly locked up. That no life. A family with older kids and time to take her for walks or to the park would be a perfect fit. All this sweet girl wants in life is to be loved on. We just no longer have the time or the ability to give her that kind of attention.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jolee the Jogging Dog HI THERE!  ...and thank you for checking out my profile.  My name is Jolee and I'm a happy girl who makes a wonderful companion. I'm gentle, sweet and very smart. Don't let the white in my muzzle fool you - I am only four years old and still have a lot of years of love and affection left in me.   Some of my favorite things are taking walks, running in the backyard, taking naps and playing in the water.  Funny thing about me:  I sleep with my tongue out - my Foster Mom says that it's a SUPER cute quirk!  My  Foster Mom also wants you to know that I would be a great addition to a home that has a jogger in the family.  We go for a walk/jog about twice a week - which is the highlight of my day.   I know basic commands, I walk well on a leash and I get along with cats, kids and other dogs. I would love to have the opportunity to show you how happy I will make you; and if you have any questions about me, please contact my Foster Mom.  Thanks again for visiting!  Love and kisses, Jolee     Please contact info@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online at www.aarfhouston.org/forms . Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet. Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
