______________________________________________________________________________ KOBI is a MEDIUM sized dog. His markings are clearly some type of Dobie mix, but he is only about 50 pounds and is full grown. KOBI is SMART as can be and eager to please. Kobie learned "fetch" and "drop" in only a few days! Like most active young dogs he will benefit from training classes. Kobi has bonded with another of our foster dogs -- IRIS. Iris and Kobi have become absolute best friends and play for hours only stopping to give each other a kiss or to lie quietly in the sun. Our DREAM would be to have IRIS and KOBI adopted together. They love each other and happily wear each other out. They are almost identical in size and weight. There are so many dogs needing great homes that we don't want to insist Iris and Kobi be adopted together, but they would be such a great, loving addition to your family. This petite gal came from a local shelter. She's stayed in a foster home with other Dobies and did well with the dominant male but not as well with the females. Martina is very affectionate and is treat motivated. She is gentle with people and loves to cuddle and gives kisses. Martina does ok on leash, responds to sit, come and off but needs house training and manners. We assume this cutie was not given the play and attention needed as a youngster. She doesn't know how to play with toys and is not housebroken. The foster suggested only large male dogs as companions. No small pets and no young children. And she can jump--at least a six foot fence is needed for this one. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy to train, she will be your forever friend. Martina wants to please but needs the opportunity to be the best.

Buffy is another of our older dogs who won't be chewing on your furniture and getting into puppy trouble. She has been with her previous adopter for nine years-since she was a puppy-but her occasional intolerance with Chihuahua housemates resulted in her being returned to DRNT. The previous owner reports that Buffy is crate trained and friendly. She likes people and large dogs but smaller critters do not appeal to her. If you're looking for a pretty little gal who has the cutest ears to share your home, you should come meet Buffy. She will be a great cuddle buddy.UPDATE: Buffy is now in a foster home in Granbury. Daley and her male companion were surrendered by their owner. He didn't have enough time for the dogs and they were left outside in their yard resulting in neighbor complaints. Daley walked nicely on leash until she saw another dog. She may be leash reactive and should probably be an only dog since she exhibits aggressive behaviour. In the play yard she showed good recall and wanted to be with the handler for attention. She is very focused on the person she is with and very friendly with anyone she met. The handlers reported her to be an extremely velcro dog. She didn't show interest in toys or treats. She didn't mind being handled, leaned over or hugged. If you're a one-dog owner looking for a couch cuddler, this pretty girl might be your new companion.

This older boy came from a local shelter and is living in a foster home with other dogs. As with many dogs, he won't back down if another dog starts something but seems to get along with other well. If you have a dog(s) in your household and are interested in Bull, you need to bring your current pets to check their compatibility. Bull will sit and has good recall. He loves treats and responds well with them. Bull is a calm dog and does not jump onto people. He will bounce in front of a person but not on them. He has not had mistakes in the foster's home thus appears to be housebroken Bull would probably do well in a home without rambunctious kids. He is a quiet calm guy who is easily handled. Although not pushy he is mildly affectionate and appreciates attention. Bull may not have been exposed to toys in his previous home since he expresses non-interest or he may just be past the puppy need to occupy himself with silly toys.

The adoption fee includes having your dog fully vetted -- spay/neuter, vaccinations, rabies shot, heartworm testing and on monthly heartworm preventative. All dogs are microchipped, and CSR covers the cost of microchip registration for the first year. CSR adopts only to adopters in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area. We require a home check for all of our adopters, and renters must have permission to add a dog to their lease agreement and have paid any necessary pet deposit.
