Story
Jaxx - One and a half year old Brittany Spaniel Mix - needs to a new home with NO children. Jaxx came from Tennessee. He was given up to a shelter due to food aggression. A no-killer shelter in Traverse City brought him up to Michigan. He was abused and malnourished when he came to Michigan. We have two boys, a four year old and a seven year old, we have had him over a year. He has had a few incidents with other children and adults coming into our home. We got him a personal in-home trainer, which helped some. He is a sweet boy who has learned a lot and needs to be with someone who doesn’t have young children. As far as adults, he seems to pick and choose who he likes, so Jaxx would have to meet you to see if you were a perfect fit for his new home. This is very hard for us because we love him very much, but we know he would have a better life with a family without children. Additionally, he needs a fenced in yard to run and play. If you have any questions, please message me.

Story
Buddy is a 9 year old Labrador, neutered, chipped and UTD on shots, adoption fee $90.00.  Buddy is great with and protective of kids we are told, not good with cats, and is hit or miss with if he is good with dogs or not.  Buddy does have food/treat aggression, so being the only dog in his new home is a must.  Buddy is a runner so will need to be on restraint at all times outside unless in a fenced in yard.  He does know a few basic commands, is house, leash and crate trained.  Very treat driven!

Story
Louise is now just shy of 3 years old. She is a Pitbull mix that is very sweet but a shy at first. Louise is looking for a special home with someone who understands she was left on her own for a long period of time until Animal Control was called to rescue her. As you can see from the video Louise is very friendly once she gets comfortable with you and she loves to run around and have fun. We are asking that if you are interested in adopting Louise that you take some time out of your busy schedule to come out and meet her on a couple of occasions so that she can get to know you. Louise is up to date on her shots, microchipped, and spayed. The other dogs here at the shelter don’t seem to bother Louise but a meet and greet would be best if you have another dog inside your home. Louise has been here for about a year now and is looking for the right home for her she would love for you to inquire about her and once we open back up she would love for you to come out and see her.

Story
Buster is an almost 8 year old neutered Terrier mix, unsure his mix. He will be chipped and UTD on shots this week! Adoption fee $90.00. We were told that Buster is NOT good with other dogs and kids. We have not seen any dog aggression from him, but to be safe, he will have to go to a home without other dogs and kids, and we are not sure his temperament with cats. Buster was being treated for a skin issue, so his new owner should continue these treatments, just consult with your veterinarian once you adopt him. Buster LOVES to play ball. He will fetch and just carry his ball around with him. Walks pretty good on leash and is house trained. Not sure how he is with being in a crate. Very friendly and sweet boy!
