Story
Levi is an absolute treasure -- don't be fooled by the cropped ears and black coat; though his looks are intimidating, he is one of the most affectionate and sweet dogs I've met. He is a 4 year old Black male Dane. He has the perfect blend of energy and Dane laziness. He will go into the yard and chase the jolly ball or play tug of war for 20-30 minutes, then take a 3 hour nap. Levi has some basic training, including sit, shake, and will even drop the ball at your feet to throw it again (see video!). Levi is both crate and house-trained. He does tend to counter surf and will need a home that will work with him on this. Levi wants nothing more than to curl up with you and watch TV! Levi has had his home life "shaken up" with moves, and gone from a home with lots of dogs to no dogs. He's adjusted well to being an only dog, but he definitely is eager to interact with other dogs, including run with the neighbor's dog up and down the fence line. In his previous home, he played VERY rough with an older female Dane, and if placed in a home with another dog, will likely need some vigilant training to make sure he learns how to play nicely. As an only dog, he has acclimated quite well and is able to get out his playful energy with his foster humans. Because he's gone through a lot of transition, Levi was initially nervous and shy in the foster home. He reacts to quick movements or even reaching out for pets by shying away, but he's quickly warmed up. Levi very much wants and enjoys human affection and will spend hours cuddled with you watching TV. Levi’s manners are a little rough around the edges and we want to ensure he learns some better ones so there will be a training contract as part of his adoption. Levi came to MAGDRL in February (5). Story
The beautiful Miss Pandora is still looking for her perfect forever home. She’s been in foster care since April and was overlooked for puppies and younger dogs we had in our care. It’s a new year and it’s going to be her year! Pandora is a 6 year old female that is spayed and has had her stomach tacked (preventative only- no stomach issues). She is good with other dogs and we feel she would do best in a home with another male dog. Pandora loves her human foster siblings, too! She’s a dream on the leash, absolutely ZERO pulling, completely housebroken and trustworthy outside of the crate, although she really likes the crate. Certain toys she really gets excited about and she’s always happy to cuddle up on a comfy bed. She also enjoys going for walks and car rides. Pandora can be slow to warm up to men and some men she will just completely ignore. However, she has never exhibited any aggression to a human. She really is a perfect dog and deserves a family to call her own! MAGDRL occasionally lists Danes that are available for adoption through another rescuer, shelter or individual. These Danes have not been evaluated by MAGDRL, and MAGDRL makes no representation about the Dane or the rescuer. Adoptions of courtesy listings do not follow MAGDRL's adoption process, and any proceeds do not normally go to MAGDRL. Adoption fees are at the discretion of the individual or rescuer.

Story
***UPDATE 17Jan2020*** Sam and Dunkin are currently with a family that takes great care of them, but unable to be their forever home. The boys are currently located in Manassas, VA with their foster mother. Feel free to reach out to me and I will put you in touch. Thank you! What can I say about Sam....if you're looking for a best friend he's the one. He is lovable, playful, and relaxed. Also loves a good head scratch (you'll know when he puts his head on your lap). Wonderful with other dogs and kids. I have had Sam since he was 6 months old (he is now 8). I am trying to find him the perfect forever home, and will not settle for anything less. He is truly an amazing part of the family. Always kept up to date on shots and never had a health issue.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Janet for more information about this pet. Buffy and Lillian are bonded sisters.  They are chihuahua pomeranian mixes.  Buffy weighs about 5lbs and Lily is about 8-10lbs.  The girls are just 5 years old. They are playful little girls, somewhat shy and love attention.  Buffy and Lily are very bonded and we are looking to place them together. Due to Buffy's petite delicate size the sisters will not be adopted to anyone with small children.        Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. PLEASE NOTE:   HHARG does not have a shelter or other physical location. All of our animals are cared for in foster homes.  If you would like more information about one of the dogs or puppies on our site please email info@healingheartsrescuegroup.org If you are interested in adopting a dog or puppy, please first review our adoption policies and procedures and fees, and then fill out our online adoption application.

Story
Bhindi has been part of our family for almost 8 years. She was a stray in rural Alabama, where we lived at the time, and she made herself at home on a coworker's outdoor furniture. He tried to shoo her away, but she kept coming back. He called us and asked if we were interested in a good dog with quite a personality. We visited and took her home with us that same day. Bhindi is probably around 8 or 9 years old now, but she acts younger. She likes to laze around during the day, but is always up for a long walk. She loves people very much. She has been incredible with our two-year-old son, very patient and playful. We are looking for a new home for Bhindi because we no longer have space for her. She used to roam in our backyard, which we don't have anymore. She does not get along with other animals, so being a solo pet would be best. She's a genuine companion and we will miss her dearly.
