shyClaire, Andie, Mitchell and their dad Fredrick came to us from a small shelter in Texas. They were going to be euthanized for being feral. We brought them to Missouri and have been socializing them They are very sweet dogs and would do best with dog friends and an adopter who has experience with shy dogs.

She would be a great dog for a older couple or single older person. Our kids and active lifestyle are too much for her. She was a puppy mill rescue so she has some mental issues. We have had her for 8 years and she is a sweet dog, but sometimes has issues. She hates storms and freaks out every time there is one. She has chronic intestinal disease. That just means her system sometimes get out of wack and she gets diarrhea. I think our active household causes flare ups for her. It is emotionally too much her. I would never send her to a kennel, but would love to find somewhere that she would be more calm and happier. She loves it when my mother-in-law watches her. She loves walks, but otherwise is a great lap dog. She would really be a great dog for the right household. I am just afraid we are not it. We have another dog and they get along fine. She has never been around cats, but I don't think she would have an issue with them. She does not have issues with kids either.

Meet Paco....a 4 year old male Chihuahua, weighing approx 9 pounds. He came to us from a local animal control shelter where his previous owners surrendered him. Paco was kept outside his entire life, so he’s now learning to enjoy being inside a warm home and sleeping on a nice soft bed. He needs a patient family who is familiar with Chihuahua’s and will give him time to gain their trust. Paco would not do well in a home with small children or large dogs. He is healthy, current on immunizations, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Paco, complete the Adoption Application on our website at www.NeedyPaws.org and we will contact you. Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Paco ’s adoption fee is $250.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Meet Pappy an 11yo chihuahua.  He's an older dude but still has alot of life left.  He does have Congestive Heart Failure which is under control with his meds.  He just wants a couch to cuddle with you and a bed to sleep in with you, of course.  He doesn't play with toys or get in any trouble.  He is great with a doggy door too.  Loves to go on walks and has the cutest head tilt ever.
