My name is Rosie. I am a 3 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever. My previous owners needed to surrender me due to life change events. I am housebroken, very social, and love people of all sizes! I have the prettiest eyes you’ve ever seen! I like to push the squeakers in toys with my nose. The noise they make is so much fun! I am currently slightly overweight, but I’m working on it. I weigh about 75lb but the number should be about 65. I am a high energy girl and ready for exercise though, so that will help with my weight loss plan. I walk on a leash well except when I get distracted by those pesky squirrels and their friends! I have anxiety which means I get scared by the unfamiliar. I would love a predictable home with space to run and a human family with some experience with animals. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.
