Story
Welcome Nina to CCPAL. She is a Lab/Mastiff is out best guess. She is very sweet with other dogs and her energy is moderate. She is about 2 years old and her teeth look nice. She recently had pups and is now being spayed so we can find her forever home. She is about 50 pounds and would make a great family dog. She is shorter that some labs but she has a very nice, social temperament. She was found on the streets with her pups. She was almost hit by a car and a good Samaritan called and asked CCPAL to take the family. CCPAL took all 3 and are now looking for homes. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with a transporter for delivery to Washington, Portland, all along the East Coast, Minnesota and Wisconsin. She is about 50 pounds an may be a little on the chunky side. She has a nice coat and with a bit more exercise and less food should trim down nicely. She would love to go running or hiking with her new family. I would say an active family is her best fit. She can curl up after she has gotten a little exercise. She loves a good rub and we are looking for the family to dote on her. The adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. Welcome Spike. He is a big gorgeous Black Lab mix. He is about 70 pounds and 1.5 years old. He has a big head that is similar to the Rottweiler but his personality is lab. He is very playful with the dog named Freckles. He is energetic but not over the top. He is decent on the leash and friendly with all dogs and people. He is athletic and will make some outdoorsy family a nice companion. He could go in a home with kiddos. We like kids to be 7 and older as they are more respectful to animals. He would make a great hiking, walking or running buddy. He is a very nice and social dog. He is currently in Texas. He was recently neutered, has all vaccinations and is ready for his forever home. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to have him delivered to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. See his cute video!!

Welcome Clyde.  He is a beautiful Lab Retriever weighingabout 50 pounds.  He is aged 2 years bythe vet.   He is mild mannered andwonderful.  He does not jump up, is goodin a crate, good with other dogs and leash trained.  He is bonded to a dog named Bonnie.  They were dumped together and Bonnie waspregnant.  A good Samaritan found themand raised all the puppies till they were old enough for their own foreverhomes.  Now it is time Bonnie and Clydefind their new home.  We would love themto go together so they have reduced fees to allow adoption to be possible.  He will be an easy dog to bring into a newfamily because he already has nice skills and manners.  He is healthy, spayed, up on all his vaccinesand ready for his forever home.  He is inTexas and we can adopt locally.  We canalso work with one of the wonderful transporters that deliver to Washington,Portland, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Vermont and all along the East Coast.  He can be delivered to Vermont for thewonderful Canadians who could travel for pickup.  The adoption fee and transport for both dogs are550.  That comes out to 225 per dog andthat is transported via a ground transport to the areas we post in.  What a steal for such AMAZING pups.    Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 oremail to maudreyh@aol.com foran application.   See hiscute video!!

Story
If you are interested in PRESTON or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to sarahbeth.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. PRESTON's smile may be the first thing to draw you in, but spend a few moments with him and you’ll meet the perfect little prince his foster family has grown to adore! PRESTON's foster mom is "oh so gentle." She also says he is super smart and easy to train. He is very responsive to cues from his canine foster brother as well. Basically, PRESTON is eager to please all around him. When it's time for a walk, PRESTON does an adorable full-body stretch by the backdoor. When PRESTON is your walking buddy, you’ll catch him sniffing the neighborhood and happily greeting each dog, cat, and human that approaches. Of course this jovial guy is both dog and cat friendly. PRESTON loves being outdoors but also loves following his foster parents from room to room. He chooses to lay nearby where they are sitting. He’s an absolute best friend to everyone in his foster home. He is also a rock star at doggy daycare, earning a gold star for behavior on each visit. PRESTON is house trained, crate trained, and know to keep his paws off your human food- though he might gaze at you while you are eating. You won’t mind him staring on bit, because PRESTON has the most beautiful deep golden/green eyes. Meeting PRESTON means you will surely fall under his spell. We at the Rescue certainly have. His happy and kind demeanor will keep a constant smile on your face. Fill out an application to have PRESTON join your family today! PRESTON does really enjoy the company of other dogs. We would love for his forever home to have at least one other resident pup. To see even more pictures of PRESTON copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/n8is1ctnjja2u2w/AAClCcNqDnaYUYrLah8Pbo9Wa?dl=0 PRESTON is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations. His $490 adoption fee includes his interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the Midwest after he is officially adopted. For an adoption application on PRESTON click here Please email the completed application to sarahbeth.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our Nashville, Knoxville and some New England adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com). We also use Pet Express Tupelo (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com/). For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport). Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Thank you for choosing rescue!!

Story
Meet Gardenia JuM Name: My name is Gardenia. I know there is a magnolia craze going on and some people are gaining quite a bit of money on, but gardenias are just as blossomy and beautiful. Gardenias are described as fussy and temperamental to grow, but not me, I am SWEEEEET! Age/Weight/Breed: I am 4 months old around the end of February. They labeled me the ever so pupular “Lab” mix. I have a sister named Lana and I am a bit daintier and more slender than her. At this point, they think I will grow to size mediyum. Yum. That is a fun word. Yum Yum yum. Myers Briggs Test: Puppies don’t take silly personality tests, but if I was a silly human and my boss made me take a silly test when I could just easily tell her, I am a ISFP, quiet, friendly, sensitive, smart and kind. I am an introvert at first, but you will find me much happy and witty once you get to know me. I enjoy living in the present and do not like conflict. I guess ISFP stands for I’m Such a Fun Puppy. History: I was found as a stray puppy. When I saw a lady that looked nice and probably knew about food, I ran straight up to her to ask for help. I mean I didn’t “ask” for help, puppies don’t actually talk, but she knew what I was asking for. Food. Love. Cuddles! And she gave me that and a bag of treats. Complaint: Sometimes I feel like Pippa Middleton. Like okay Kate, you married a dashing Prince, get over it. My sister Lana came to rescue camp first and now I feel like I am constantly living in her shadow. Skills: I will need the basic training of potty and crate training and leash training when you get me home. I mean, they are trying to show me here, but with so many dogs, I don’t get enough one on one time to offurcially call myself skilled in any way, except for eating and playing. I am a great eater and player. So do you want to take me home and teach me? Basics: Gardenia JuM- female, 4 months (at the end of February), Lab mix, will likely be medium, black/white, happy and sweet, smart, good with dogs, has a lovely sister, very dainty and slender with darling ears

Story
Hit the theme music to Rocky the movie, because I expect that is what you will hummmm in your head every time I enter the living room. It is very muttivating. I am named Rocky because I look like an Italian stallion, but in reality, I am more chunky like Rocky Road icecream, plus I match Rocky Road icecream with my combo of chocolate with black sprinkles and dollups of white fur to signify the marshmellows. Is it just me or is it getting hungry up in here???? I have a Labby dabby dude personality and flappy dappy Labby ears, but obviously, I am a mix. I am 1 year old and 6 months too. I weigh about 60 pounds. But looks are not important, smarts are importanter and behavior is the importantest. You will never hear me randomly borking at phantom noises like some dogs. And you will never find me jumping up on people’s slacks or jeans. Nope. Not this good boy. If you wonder why I am so well behaved, it’s because I went to training to be a service dog for wounded warriors, but I didn’t pass all the tests to finish. That doesn’t mean I am a bad guy, it just means, you get the oppawturnity to use me as a family dog. Those requirements for being a service dog are purty strict and I didn’t cut the mustard, but at least I didn’t cut the cheese. Or maybe I did! I do know words like “sit”, but I can get a little excited so my sit can be a little bouncier than your average sit. I guess that make scents, as if you were in a car on a rocky road. I am great around all dogs and all people. The lady says I need to say I will do best in an active household with lots of attention and walks and activities. That my friends is a eufurmism for “this dog’s gots lots of energy”. I do, but I am also a good boy too once I exercise. Plus I am house house, leash and crate trained, a terrific shotgun car rider. I can’t wait to meet you and hang out and get treats for all my good boy moves.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!   Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <underdogrescue@petml.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Due to concern around COVID-19, Underdog Rescue is suspending all public adoption events and community events. We are still accepting applications for available dogs but are delaying in-person meet and greets due to the ‘stay at home’ policy. Thank you for your support.    DOB: 06/20/2016 Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: No Okay with cats: No  Okay with children under 12 years old: Yes Requires a fenced yard: No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hi everyone! My name is Rosie. I am a 3 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever. My previous owners needed to surrender me due to life change events. I am housebroken, very social, and love people of all sizes! I have the prettiest eyes you’ve ever seen!  I like to push the squeakers in toys with my nose. The noise they make is so much fun! I am currently slightly overweight, but I’m working on it.  I weigh about 75lb but the number should be about 65.  I am a high energy girl and ready for exercise though, so that will help with my weight loss plan. I walk on a leash well except when I get distracted by those pesky squirrels and their friends!   I have anxiety which means I get scared by the unfamiliar.  I would love a predictable home with space to run and a human family with some experience with animals. I have so much love to give and I cannot wait to meet you!   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now?
