Story
Me and my husband adopted axel from another family moving out of the country. He is an amazing dog, and we have had him for over 4 years. We have started a family and have found he is not absolutely fond of small children. He has snapped a few times. He needs to go to a home with teenagers or a young couple. He is an extremely active dog, and loves to be loved. He needs to be the baby of the home. Axel needs a strong owner, someone who is gentle yet in control. He loves meeting new people, but not necessarily meeting new dogs. He does great with smaller dogs, but even that can be a challenge due to his size and wanting to play. I would love to see him go to someone who can spoil him, and keep him active. I'm only re homing him because it is not fair to him keeping him seperated from the children and not being able to run him all the time. Axel is like a giant puppy, sometimes not as gentle as he should be, playing, kisses, etc. love this dog and this is so hard for us.

Story
11 year old Dolly is a happy couch potato who loves ear rubs. She knows sit, walks with some pulling on leash and gets along with other dogs, cats and children. As a senior dog her adoption fee is waived for adopters 65 years old and older and $20 for everyone else. If you are interested in adopting a new pet from the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter, please fill out an application at https://pets.georgetown.org/adoption/adoption-contract/ and then e-mail it to animalsvc@georgetown.org . This is a temporary change to operations put in place to protect visitors, volunteers, and staff. Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule an appointment to meet available dogs and cats. Please contact the shelter with any additional questions The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates). Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*. The adoption fee includes: spaying/neutering vaccinations (appropriate to species and age) heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age) de-worming medication microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly) There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown. Story
Are you looking for a new best friend? One that is fearless, ready to take on any adventure, but also will snuggle in your lap the moment the opportunity presents itself? That is Freddy! Freddy is the perfect companion, softest cuddle bug, and the world's biggest goofball. Want to go for a morning hike? Freddy will be ready at the door. Want to play some fetch? He knows how to catch the ball mid-air. Want to snuggle on the couch? He's already there. Freddy is a loving boy who enjoys following you around with toys in his mouth, having zoomies, and exploring new places! Freddy is the cutest boy with his silly faces, 360 spins, flopping over and lifting his leg to request belly rubs, and tip-tapping his front paws on the ground when he is excited! Freddy finds his confidence quickly when faced with a new task and responds well to encouragement. He is 100% potty trained and his eagerness to learn has allowed him to quickly pick up on many commands, such as sit, look at me, crate, free and karate. He also knows how to leash walk politely, wait patiently before devouring food, come when called, and he exhibits stellar social skills. Freddy truly is the best exploring buddy to have by your side. He loves all people, dogs, and any new friends he happens to meet that will accept kisses! He is the perfect combo of exuberant pup and world-class snuggler who will follow you to the end of earth and back. Will you be the lucky human who gets to take on the world with this handsome, intelligent, adventure-loving, one of a kind boy?

Story
Timberlake, the dashing black and white husky, is a model of perfect canine manners. This well-behaved boy has a curious but nonchalant attitude towards cats on walks, showcasing his composed demeanor. He has mastered the art of polite interactions, sitting patiently for treats and exhibiting gentle behavior when seeking affection or taking treats. In the home, Timberlake is the epitome of good behavior. He doesn't venture onto furniture, remains quiet, and refrains from getting into anything that isn't meant for him. As a free-roamer, he gracefully waits for the return of his human companions. While he may not be a fan of the crate, his ability to navigate the living space with such poise makes it unnecessary. Timberlake's love for wandering is evident during his walks, where he becomes a true explorer, clocking in impressive miles. His enthusiasm for long, rambling walks allows him to indulge in his favorite pastime-sniffing to his heart's content. His joy is palpable, expressed through a wide grin, occasional hopping, and playful pouncing on treats or toys. Despite his energetic walks, Timberlake knows how to unwind. Whether stopping for belly-rubs or displaying endearing antics like sitting or flipping onto his back during zoomies, Timberlake is a delightful companion with a zest for life. With his charming demeanor and impeccable manners, Timberlake is ready to bring joy to a loving home. The best set-up for Timberlake would be an active household with/ or without children 8+. He may be able to live with a well-matched dog with slow introductions.
