Story
My name is Cali and I'm one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet.  I have beautiful blue eyes and a loving personality. I am a 1 1/2 year old, Husky/Lab mix and weigh about 30 lbs. I can't tell you what happened to me the first year of my life, but it has made me shy around humans. I'm getting better, because my foster mom is gentle with me and understands that it's hard for me to trust people because they haven't always been very nice to me.  I love to be at home and to play outside with other dogs.   I do not like car rides or outings.  I don't really like going for walks around a lot of people, and I'm afraid of cars but I'm getting better about this. I live with other cats and dogs, but I play too rough with cats, so it's better I don't live in a house with them. My foster mom has trained me to stay in a crate when she is at work. It's OK, especially if she gives me a treat when I go in by myself. For some reason that makes her happy.  I used to have to be carried to my crate but I'm not afraid of it anymore.  Just don't put in a soft, thick cushion for me because they are fun to tear up when I get bored.  In the afternoons I stay out of the crate and sleep on the couch. I like a lot of playtime outside with my doggy sisters.  My BFF is a wired-haired chihuahua who is also available for adoption. My foster mom says I need a very special human who is willing to take the time get to know me and not yell at me or hit me if I make a mistake.  I am potty trained, but if the weather is too bad I may have an accident in the house. So, if you think you might want to meet me, please let my foster mom know.  She loves me a lot and said I could only go with someone that's really special.  I want my human to be very nice and gentle, and who will let me sleep by their side at night, because that makes me feel safe.  I can't live with a lot of noise or small children though, because I might react out of fear. I would never hurt someone intentionally though.   The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter, microchip, a lifetime registration of the microchip, and sales tax. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

Story
Hi Guys, Smuggler here! I am named after the breath taking beautiful Smuggler Mountain in Colorado, because my coat is white as snow! I somehow ended up homeless and on the street searching for food. Some people were not very nice to me, so it took a while for me to trust anyone enough to be rescued. But here I am now, living the good life and getting lots of TLC! I have had the works...vaccines, neuter, micro-chip, etc...and am a perfectly healthy pup! I LOVE other dogs and need to be in a home with a k9 sibling to make me feel more comfortable. I am timid with new people, and need someone that will be patient with me while I learn to trust again. It takes more than one meet and greet for me to warm up to new people. Fast moves and loud noises scare me, so I prefer to be in a home with adults, as young children are a bit too much for me. I also would do best living in a house with a yard to play in. An apartment building is too busy and all the people and activity scare me. I am crate trained and house-trained and also learning my basic commands. I still get nervous on walks, but am doing better. I am a very gentle and sweet boy and hope to have my forever home soon. If you think you might be the right family for me, please visit our website at www.redcollar.org to learn more about our adoption procedures.

Story
Hi! My name is Bailey and you will not believe my story! Most dogs that end up in my situation don't get so lucky. You see, at my former home, I lived on the front porch. I was free to roam wherever I wanted to and my owners would just leave food and water out on the front porch for me. It wasn't a great life for a 4 month old puppy. So anyway, I was outside playing with the neighbor kid and I accidentally scratched him on the leg while we were playing. Not knowing what that would mean for me, the kid's dad called animal control. They took me away and put me in doggie jail. But, it wasn't just any doggie jail. I was put in quarantine doggie jail with only two ways out. The good way, or the bad way. The good way was for a rescue group to bail me out and take me in to find a new home for me where people understand that sometimes when puppies play with humans, we accidentally scratch them, because we get really excited. The bad way was that I was going to be euthanized and have my head cut off and sent to a lab for rabies testing. Yikes! Boy, am I glad I got out of there the good way! I am an adorable female, 4 month old, tan and white Husky/Labrador mix and I currently weigh 30 pounds. I am up to date on my vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. My foster mom says I am very sweet and fun and that I am a bundle of play and kisses. I love to play with other dogs and I LOVE living inside a house! I am working on house training and crate training and I am learning how to walk nice on a leash. If you think you would like to take me home as your FUREVER friend, please let the rescue know. I am wishing for a family that loves to play as much as I do and also for a family that will take care of me like I deserve! XOXO Bailey Bailey's adoption fee is $350. Since Bailey is part Husky and Huskies are known to be very vocal and active dogs, Bailey is not a suitable candidate for apartment living. **Bailey is currently in her foster home in Sheridan, Texas.
