Story
UPDATE: Max currently has a potential foster-to-adopt waiting for him, so we ask you to please check back after April 20 to see if he becomes available after he arrives in MD.  Thank you! Max is a one year old Labradoodle whose family got in over their heads with too many dogs, and found themselves needing to find a home for Max. We were contacted and of course we agreed to find Max the perfect forever family! Max is a large boy, with loads and loads of playful energy. He is great with other dogs especially if they love to play. He is great with kids and has been around kids of all ages. However, due to his size, he may be too much for very tiny kids. He can be rather timid in new situations, but has not shown any aggression at all (he tried to hide from the groomer who had to lift him into her truck to bathe him). He needs to be more socialized and exercised than he currently is in order to bring out his very best. He also needs someone willing to put in the time to teach him some manners. He is housebroken, crate trained, and is overall a really good boy who needs an active family that has time for him. Max's coat is long and wavy and will need regular grooming (every 8-12 weeks) to prevent matting. Max has no known health issues, and will be fully vetted (to include neuter, microchipped, heartworm test, dewormer, etc.) prior to adoption. Max needs a foster in the MD/DC/VA area by April 10, 2020, the day he is expected to arrive. We are hoping to find a family that wants to adopt him who is willing to take him in as a foster for a week or two to ensure a good fit, and then hopefully adopt him. If this sounds like something you're willing to do, we would love to hear from you! Interested fosters/adopters please email MJsAnimalSanctuary@gmail.com to request an application. Adopters/fosters are subject to reference check, vet reference, home visit, and when Max arrives, a meet and greet with all family members. Adoption fee applies at the time of actual adoption.
