Story
Welcome Clyde.  He is a beautiful Lab Retriever weighingabout 50 pounds.  He is aged 2 years bythe vet.   He is mild mannered andwonderful.  He does not jump up, is goodin a crate, good with other dogs and leash trained.  He is bonded to a dog named Bonnie.  They were dumped together and Bonnie waspregnant.  A good Samaritan found themand raised all the puppies till they were old enough for their own foreverhomes.  Now it is time Bonnie and Clydefind their new home.  We would love themto go together so they have reduced fees to allow adoption to be possible.  He will be an easy dog to bring into a newfamily because he already has nice skills and manners.  He is healthy, spayed, up on all his vaccinesand ready for his forever home.  He is inTexas and we can adopt locally.  We canalso work with one of the wonderful transporters that deliver to Washington,Portland, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Vermont and all along the East Coast.  He can be delivered to Vermont for thewonderful Canadians who could travel for pickup.  The adoption fee and transport for both dogs are550.  That comes out to 225 per dog andthat is transported via a ground transport to the areas we post in.  What a steal for such AMAZING pups.    Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 oremail to maudreyh@aol.com foran application.   See hiscute video!!

Story
Please meet Scout! This VERY handsome fellow was living on the streets of a neighborhood that had been flooded after his owner abandoned the home and Scout! Then, still on the street, he endured the days of uncommon below-freezing weather of the Winter. Good neighbors joined together to help Scout have a good life by contacting us to help him. So, here he is in all his glory, ready to have the final piece of recovery put in place by finding a forever home with some extremely lucky family! Scout is approximately 3 years old and weighs in at about 60 pounds. We believe he may be Lab mix, as his shiny blue- black coat is a bit longer and thicker than a Lab's.... but, he's Mostly Lab! He has been fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Scout has a great personality - friendly, happy and he is loved by all who meet him. He is full of fun and so wants to please humans, even when his life was really hard! He Loves people, gets along fine with the other two dogs in the foster home, and ADORES children. He ignored the neighborhood cats when he was on the streets, but we can't say how he would react to a cat inside the home. Scout is looking for an active home with a secure backyard and a family who will love and cherish him as any other family member. This truly is a great dog!! Scout is being fostered in Deer Park, TX (near Houston). Be sure to watch the video of Scout playing on the trampoline with another of our fostered dogs, Reba. Please apply today at www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org , if you can give this beautiful creature the home he has always deserved! The application is near his photos on the website! I promise - Scout is a find!!

Story
Simon is a homeless, blind-in-one-eye dog who was found hiding in the flowerbed of a home near Houston. All efforts to locate an owner failed. Simon truly is the sweetest dog we have come across in a very long time. He is young, healthy, and soo wants to please. He weighs 48 pounds, does great with other dogs and people. He's not been tested with cats. Even the vets and their staffs have remarked repeatedly about his sweet, innocent temperament and how compliant he is. This dog truly did not deserve to be abandoned nor does he deserve to die because of this impairment. We (Baytown Humane Society) have now had Simon fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He tested Negative for heartworms, too! We have also taken him to a veterinarian ophthalmologist who diagnosed Simon with a congenital condition causing him to be totally blind in his right eye, and with limited sight in the left. We have been astonished at how well he navigates with his limited vision. He actually runs and plays with the other dogs in the home as if he has full sight! He gets daily drops in his sighted eye, but that is the only thing different required of the owner. Simon is truly an amazing dog who loves to play, freely gives kisses, and wants to live a happy life with a great family. Please help us with this precious animal.
