Story
Hiya! My name is Coco and I am slender 2 year old black labrador mix of 60lb and 23 inches tall. I am a quirky girl who loves to play!  What's my story? I was born in the Middle East about two years ago. I was rescued as a small puppy from a dangerous situation where a group of boys were hurling stones at my small little body. Thank goodness my rescuers found me! I spent some time in a shelter in the Middle East before coming to Canada to find my forever home. When I first came to Canada I was placed in a home with another dog. I thought I would love having a doggy companion, however my clumsy and rough attempts at play quickly backfired and it was decided that my doggy "friend" and I were not compatible. I was moved to a foster home where I have spent time with some other doggies and have been working on my socialization skills. I will admit, they still aren't perfect. The other dogs don’t really like me because I am too rough and eager and I don’t seem to speak their language. I annoy them by nipping at their heels and ears and by sticking my butt in their faces (apparently other dogs don't like that... weird, eh?). I have so much energy and I long to run and play with those guys... if only someone could teach me the polite way to make friends. I think maybe I can just be a bit "too-much" for some dogs. For this reason, I would be a great fit for a single-dog household. I LOVE people, and sometimes I get SO excited to see you that I can become over-excited and even a bit nippy. I have been working on my manners with my foster mum, and she says I have improved quite a bit! This will be an ongoing learning curve for me, but it will be worth it. I am a loving, happy girl who wants to be loved sooo badly! UPDATE: This is what my foster mama has to say about me and my progress: Coco is doing very well. She passed the intermediate training at Pet Smart in January! Coco wasn't a fan of the graduation hat (so no picture of that cuteness), but I have a picture of her Certificate of Achivement and final grades! Coco can still be a little bit grumpy with other dogs, but she is improving. Coco needs somebody with patience that can give her lots of attention. She shows some crazy behaviour every once in a while, but if you take care of her and just ignore her crazy moments, she is a great dog. Coco is a beautiful darling and I believe she is ready to be adopted any time. See? I sound like lots of fun, right? I promise to keep you on your toes and bring lots of character and happiness to your life! I am a healthy and energetic young dog with so much potential and so much enthusiasm. I just need some continued TLC and patience to help me become the best dog I can be! Would you like to come and meet me? I have a feeling you will be the one to show me how to make friends and be loved. Once that happens, I will be the happiest, most grateful dog in the world and I will repay you with endless tail-wags and doggy kisses!   I have been spayed, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD.   Looking for more furry friends? Story
Due to current travel restrictions there may be a long delay before I can get to you. Please only apply for me if you are willing to wait. Hello kind people, this is sweet, gentle Lexie here! I am a two year old, 55 pound Lab-mix pooch who was rescued in Mexico. I am a lovely girl who truly deserves a home filled with love. My life didn’t start off too great. You see, I was rescued from a neglectful situation and was in “street conditions” when my rescuers found me. If you look at my “before rescue” picture, I look so sad and neglected. How could someone neglect such a cute pooch?? It’s a mystery to me too. BUT my life has been getting better ever since my amazing rescuers saved me! Check out my “after rescue” picture – SO much happier and 100% healthy! I now live in the shelter in Mexico, but believe me, this is WAY better than where I was living before. I know I’m lucky to be here, but oh how I would love to have a warm, cozy home to call my own. I long to have my very own people who love me unconditionally. I also dream of going on lots of adventures; hikes, dog parks, swimming, car rides… you name it, I’d like to try it! I have doggy dreams of my very own family who gives me lots of treats and belly rubs. I promise to repay you with lots of tail-wagging and gentle doggy kisses! My rescuers say that I am super friendly and get along well with other dogs. I am an ideal family dog who is great with all people. I am a clean and smart pup who does all her business outside. Even though I’m house trained here in Mexico, my adopters should allow for a proper adjustment period at my new house (I may have an accident here or there while I get used to my new surroundings). I have been spayed and vaccinated. My adoption fee of $550 includes my airfare to Canada. Ooops, I guess it’s not super secret anymore. You will find me a pretty balanced pup. I likes Cronchy water bottles, they are my favorite toy. Plus they are free toys, so you save money. You know what... maybe one day, we can take a field trip to the Plastic Recycle plant and I can jump into the water bottles like a jumpy ball pit, but with water bottles…ooooohhh we should do that. You will notice, I have the cutest little white speckle accents here and there. I have the darlingest little bat like ears that get bigger and bigger every day. I shouldn’t grow too much bigger though, maybe medium sized once filled out, 50 lbs at most, as a guessimate. As far as the social realm, I am shy, but I like dogs and kids. I have not met any cats, but I really should get one, all girls named Sabrina should have a nice black kitty to pal around with. I am learning house skills like potty training. I like to play with my foster brother Clark and I share my food with him and everything, I am sooooo nice. So, a home with a buddy would be super duper terrific. Story
Hello, Casha here. I am a pretty, 7 year old, female Labrador Retriever/Australian Cattle Dog mix (best guess!) I can be quite the lovey, dovey pup, even at around 80 lbs. I was born on the streets of a big city in the Middle East and when I was just a wee puppy, I was hit by a car. My back leg was run over and crushed, so now I am a card carrying member of the tri-paw club. Even though I was in terrible pain when my rescuer found me, I couldn't stop kissing her when she lovingly scooped me off the ground; I was so happy to be rescued. After a bit if time at a shelter, fortune smiled and I was brought to Canada where I am now living in a foster home . Though I can come on strong when I first meet new dogs, with proper introductions I can make friends with dogs my size or larger, though I really should be the only dog in my future home.  Something I find very exciting is small, furrry creatures that run. I really like to chase them so I should definitely not live in a home with little dogs, cats or squirrels!  When we go for walks my foster mom makes sure to steer clear of the squirrelly areas because even though I only have 3 legs I can sure run when I want to!  Other than when I'm in chase mode, I don't really need a lot of activity. Long walks are not high on my list of priorities, but don't get me wrong, I really enjoy going out for a 'sniffy-walk' each day.  Not only is it important for my health, but it's good for the mind too. Daily exercise eases my anxiety (I get scared by loud noises and lots of hustle and bustle).  Speaking of health, because I have a bit of age-related arthritis I am on daily fish oil supplements, as recommended by my vet.   I hope my future home has a yard or patio where I could hang out.  I really do love to spend time outdoors lounging on the deck in the sunshine. I could happily while away the day out there. An apartment just wouldn't work for me. My ideal home is a quiet, calm place where I can spend my days bonding with my person and wandering around the yard. After our daily constitutional you and I could hang out together and bask in mutual adoration.   My wonderful foster mom has really taken a shine to me (I have that effect on people) and I have enjoyed entertaining her with my mischievous nature and occasional playfulness. I have a cute curiosity too.  Check my video https://youtu.be/7qhg4OhemJI    People are definitely my favourite beings and my foster mom will tell you I am an extremely loving girl who adores belly rubs and cuddles. So now you know all about me, let's get together. I am local so you can come and meet me any time your little heart desires.  I'll be waiting ......   I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $450 CAD   Looking for more furry friends?
I'm sure to be a head-turner with my charming good looks and adorable face! I have been at the shelter in Bahrain my whole life, so about 2 years now. Needless to say, I'm SO ready for a home to call my own! I wonder what it would be like to have my own humans who love me dearly, feed me lots of yummy treats, and take me for adventures. Being a young lad, I have a good amount of energy (not crazy though... he he he), so I will be a great adventure companion. Hikes, walks, trips to the dog park... you name it, I'm pretty sure I'll love it! Oh, I also LOVES the belly rubs!! Pleaseee give me alll the belly rubs! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5moOTq0Tpc&feature=youtu.be) My rescuers speak very highly of me; I am super sweet and LOVE attention. Can you blame me, who doesn't love belly rubs and human affection?! Check out the picture of me smiling with my rescuer... look how shiny my pearly whites are! I'm awesome with other dogs, seeing as I've lived with 10 other dogs my whole life! Check out this video of me surrounded by other pups... pretty tolerant of me, eh? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG89EzjMTX4&feature=youtu.be) If you happen to have another furry canine companion in your house, I'm sure we'd get along great! If not, I'd love to socialize with other dogg-o friends at the dog park or at daycare. I'm a social butterfly, what can I say! Ooh another bonus... I'm excellent with kitty cats! Check out my video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd9jJ1-MwNo&feature=youtu.be) If you think you'd like to have me join your family, pleeaaseee fill out an application! I had very bad mange, as you can see by my photo. The people whom saved me transferred me over to a shelter. There, they treated me for mange, but each summer it came back. Until finally, they got some great stuff from the US to use. Now, my mange problem is gone and my fur has grown back in beautifully. See my bright Auburn coat? My rescuer says whoever adopts me won't be sorry. The shelter says I am the  sweetest, kindest dog around. I act real cute too. Here I am at the shelter: https://youtu.be/fZ0yWNOCeGg. I am loveable to people, dogs and even kids. I haven't been around cats though, so best a non kitty home, because I just have no idea how I would react to one. I am a playful girl too, so we should be able to have some good fun. They were planning to kill me. Thankfully, my rescuer intervened and was somehow able to get me from them. I have been with my rescuer about 7 months now. I am very friendly and like being around my people. I tend to be sensitive to emotions, so it's like I understand your feelings. Although I haven't been around kids, I would probably do well with them too, as I enjoy closeness of people so much and I am a kind girl. I haven't been around cats though. Do you love walking or running even. I would make a great partner for you, if so. My energy level is pretty normal overall. I looove spending time with humans and want all the attention I can get - watch my silly video trying to get attention of the person watching TV. There is just one thing that does scare me though, that is thunder. So, maybe if there is a thunderstorm, you will need to play music, get me a thunder shirt or give me some anti-anxiety meds until it passes. My rescuer said she really can't see any faults in me. I know how to be on leash and when off leash, I come back with my name or with a whistle. She also says I am very, very smart. I won't bark unless there is some serious reason to do so. I also get along very, very well with other dogs. I enjoy playing and I will share my food and toys just fine. I like stuffie toys. I really want to please you and get your approval.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.My adoption fee is $550.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada.   Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. One day robbers came to the garden and when I tried to defend my owner and his garden, the robbers hurt me. They broke my paw very badly. Unfortunately the damage was so deep, the vets could not save it. That makes me part of the tripaw club. My owner left me in a shelter after that, because he thought I could no longer protect his garden. So, here I wait for a loving home.  The shelter staff loves me. I think it is because I am so sweet and like walking with them at the shelter. I like other dogs too. I am afraid of sticks and things like shovels though. So please keep that in mind when we are out working in your yard. I am sure with time, love and patient training, I should be able to overcome those fears. I hope you are the family to bring me into a safe and loving home. I am waiting to walk through your door. https://youtu.be/HZoFZeU85jU I would enjoy a mellower home, moderate in activity. If you have another canine buddy for me, that is fine, though not required. Cats and children are not ones I have been around, so probably best to stay with a dog based home.  A yard would be very welcome, as I really liked my garden. We could stretch out on the grass in the sun together, while you scratch my belly. That would be really special.   I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.  My adoption fee is $450.00 CAD, this includes my airfare to Canada. Sterilization is required.
