Story
This is Stitch! Stitch is a 70 pound, 7 year old lab/husky mix with a soft golden coat and dark soulful eyes. Stitch and his brother were introduced to the Happy Tails team when their owner developed allergies and could no longer care for them. This was tough on the boys, and though they had each other, there was a scrap between them and for each of their safety they were separated. Stitch misses his family and has been pretty depressed without his brother but he’s been adjusting, first at a farm-shelter and currently with a new foster family. Is Stitch right for you? Needs some good exercise, at least two good walks a day and as much outdoors time as possible Aside from that, he’s a cuddly couch potato He loves to snuggle in bed and he’s the best sleeping buddy, he’ll never step on you or wake you when he gets up for a drink of water Doesn’t love baths but very politely accepts being washed He is a polite boy! He’ll wait for you to walk out a door first and behave generally like a true gentleman He needs to be on a leash or he may scamper off until some trust builds between you and him Very kid friendly! Introduce him slowly and ask the little ones to respect his space, but he’s been an angel to his foster parents 5 year old niece and came from a family with children He’s still adapting so you can expect some whining, a bit of jumpiness, and some howling here and there Regarding other dogs he has a bit of a history. Walking him by other dogs, he’ll tug and bark (tail wagging and happy but he is a big boy...); he’s slowly learning every day with his foster family. If you have other pets, you may want to try a trial period and introduce them slowly. Happiest with regular company, so he shouldn’t be alone for extended periods until he’s used to a strong routine He’s fully potty trained and follows basic commands Don’t break this boy’s heart, if you decide to adopt him, make it his forever home! He is sweet and full of love and needs the same! To apply, fill out an application specifying you’re interested in Stitch and we’ll set up a meet and greet!

Story
I adopted Kiba from the Humane Society 2 years ago when he was around 1 year old. They didn't have any record of where he came from or any other history since he had been dropped off at the after hours cage. He was very traumatized when I got him - tail tucked and scared of everything. It didn't take him long to start to relax and blossom into a happy, well adjusted dog. He loves being outside running at the beach or in the mountains, swimming and going to the dog parks. He's very social, loyal, smart, mellow and playful. He sometimes has issues with bigger dogs and seems to like all smaller dogs. For some reason he doesn't like kids, he can be around them but doesn't like them touching him. He can be a bit suspicious of some people when first meeting them and some people he likes right away. I think an ideal home for him would be a place where there is lots of space to run around, not a lot of strangers coming and going and to have a little dog to play with.

Story
Meet Bronco  We think Bronco May be a greyhound lab mix.(?) He is around 7 years old and weighs 60 lbs. He walks nicely on a leash and is crate trained. He is good with children and other dogs and probably with cats as he has lived with a rabbit:) He is an all around good boy and is looking for a forever home so he will never have to change homes again. He has had a few homes now by no fault of his own. He would love a family with a fenced yard and lots of loving attention. If you can give this sweet boy a forever home please fill out a statement of interest on our website. alternativehumanesociety.com ##610365##

Story
Rekker is a three year old purebred black lab who is half English, half American. That means he's a little short. We bought him as a 6 week old puppy from a local family. He is unpapered. He is a wonderful, loving family dog who is great with other animals and kids. We are looking for a loving family to adopt him and treat him as a member of their family and who can finally care for him as he has ongoing medical issues. He is an allergy/autoimmune dog who needs special food as well as vitamins and allergy meds. We also think he has torn his second ACL and will need a surgery. He is the sweetest family dog who loves kids and will protect your family.

Story
Hi! I’m looking to rehome my sweet dog to a loving home. My partner & I split & I was promoted at work and just don’t have the time to give her the life she deserves anymore. Her name is Piper, she is 3 years old (4 in April) & is a golden retriever/pitbull mix. She is very sweet, cuddly & loving. She is dog & food aggressive, but absolutely loves humans of all shapes & sizes.
