Story
Charlotte is a wonderfully playful young girl. She is enthusiastic and enjoys meeting other dogs. Charlotte easily makes friends with the people she meets. She is looking for someone that can teach her to play fetch. Charlotte loves toys and loves to play, but if you don't have a toy she will play with your hands. We try not to encourage that here at the shelter. Charlotte is a fast learner and since all she wants is for you to play with her, she catches on quickly putting the toy in her mouth rather than your hands. If you are viewing this dog's profile on Adopt-a-Pet and are interested in adopting, please head to our official website at www.worcesterarl.org to fill out a Dog Adoption Inquiry Form, which will be located under the dog's profile.

Story
Beautiful Hope is looking for a physically active home where she can run, play and do all the things that active big dogs do. Hope is super enthusiastic, and can't wait for a fresh start with adopters who can help her learn some new tricks. Hope would like to live as an only dog, as she can get intense with new dogs, but could probably tolerate being around other dogs in social settings where she doesn't have to encounter lots of casual up close meets. We have no history of Hope living with other dogs. Hope admits to being a jumper, but it is because she is super social with people and just hasn't learned a better way to get attention. We have no history of Hope living with cats, and she is looking for a home with teens and up because she can get big zoomies, and could knock down young ones. She would be a great candidate to learn better ways of interacting with people as she is so grateful for attention, and super eager to make people happy. If you are interested in adopting Hope, please head to our website worcesterarl.org and click on Hope's photo to fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form. That is the first step. All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!

Story
Meet 1 year old lab/hound mix Daryl! Daryl was brought to us through our relocation program, so we don`t have too much history as to what his life was like prior to him coming to our shelter. However, he has spent a short period of time in a home setting where we learned he has some of the makings of house-training, and he loves to entertain himself with toys! As you might guess from his picture, Daryl is going to be a high energy dog who will require lots of work on basic manners and leash walking skills, so adopters should be ready (and excited!) for a dog that will require lots of mental and physical activity, in addition to some training. Daryl has the potential to join a home with a similarly matched dog friend, but will likely require a slow-introduction to start! Daryl is not looking for a home with cats or kids at this time as he`s still working on mastering being his best good-boy self.If you are interested in adopting this young boy who is excited about life, feel free to stop by our Methuen Adoption Center between the hours of 12PM-3PM Tuesday-Sunday

Story
Wiggles, happy smiles and lots of fun when you welcome Beverly into your home! Beverly is just a year old and she traveled up from the south to find her forever family. This little lady has been through quite a few changes in a short time, so her adopters should give her plenty of time to settle in with just household members while everyone gets acquainted. It`s always best to `puppy proof` the home including a safe confinement area where she can relax when needed. She may be able to join a home with a well matched resident dog or a dog savvy cat. Any kids in the family should be older as Beverly still gets very excited and can be a bit jumpy. If you think this bundle of fun is for you, please stop by to chat with staff. Tuesday Sunday 12-3p

Story
Hello, I`m Moe, the adorable 11-month-old Black Lab mix who`s ready to find my forever home. I may be a puppy, but I come with a unique set of characteristics that make me special. Let`s get to know each other better! Yes, I`m irresistibly cute, and my charming puppy eyes will surely melt your heart. I absolutely love playing with other dogs. In fact, having a dog buddy helps boost my confidence and makes me more comfortable in new situations. I`ve had a bit of a rollercoaster ride in my young life, with multiple transitions and not much consistency. So, during my first few weeks in my new home, it`s important to give me time to decompress and adjust. My world should be small and predictable initially, with limited exposure to new people, dogs, or places. I`m sensitive to changes in my environment and can easily become overwhelmed. I need a patient and understanding adopter who can keep my world controlled and manageable. Please avoid big gatherings or visits to busy places during my settling-in period. It`s essential to let me approach and initiate interactions, and never force me into situations I`m uncomfortable with. I might have missed out on proper socialization as a young pup, which can make me uncomfortable around new people, places, or things. Any socialization experiences I have in the future should be positive and allow me to opt-out if I`m not comfortable. It`s crucial for my adopter to read my body language and respect my boundaries. I may initially avoid or shy away from touch, and it`s important not to force interactions. I might not be ready for petting right away, so adopters should be prepared to wait for me to initiate contact. The concept of petting consent is essential, allowing me to approach and decide the pace of our interactions. Being a puppy means I need the usual puppy-proofing, appropriate toys to chew on, mental and physical stimulation, a consistent routine, and careful supervision in the home. Due to my fearfulness, activities like walks or outdoor potty breaks may need to be delayed until I`m more comfortable and confident. I thrive in the company of other dogs, so having a confident, mature dog roommate who can tolerate my puppy energy is ideal. We`ll need to meet before we go home together to ensure compatibility. I haven`t been around cats before, but I might be able to live with a quiet, dog-savvy cat after a careful introduction. If there are kids in my new home, they should be old enough to follow inst
