Story
Kip is a spunky, very active one and a half year old lab mix. He needs some positive reinforcement training and possibly some guidance from and older patient dog. He is very reactive, so a calmer household would probably be best. He gets overwhelmed with loud noises and too much going on. He enjoys playing with dogs, but also gets overwhelmed with too many dogs. He will play fetch. He sleeps in a crate.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. 'Won't you please pay attention to me? I just want to play!' Meet Prince, an active 8 year old Black Labrador Retriever / German Shorthair Pointer mix. Poor Prince was confined to an apartment with no socialization and little attention because the family lost interest in him. LDDR agreed to take Prince and find the right home for him. He is now receiving lots of playtime and TLC in his foster home while waiting for a forever home. Prince is your typical busy dog that will do best in a home with an adopter who is willing to work with him to teach him some proper manners. He can be a bit wary of unknown people and would need slow introductions to someone he doesn't know. A fenced yard would be ideal to play ball, as that’s his favorite thing to do. Prince walks well on a leash except when a car goes by. He currently has a desire to chase moving cars. He is perfectly house trained and will bark at the door to let you know he needs to go out, and he will bark at the door to come back in, too. Prince is good with most dogs when properly introduced. He seems to ignore cats, but has never lived with one.&#226&#128&#139 For more information or questions, email Tim at tmb611@msn.com. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Arthur, also known as Bear, is a neutered 3-4 yr old lab mix. He is on the small side at only 20 inches tall and 45 lbs. LDDR pulled Arthur from a shelter in Ohio just before he was to be euthanized.  He was found chained to a porch of an abandoned home. Arthur is learning to be an inside dog. He will use a crate in the house, although he usually has free run in 4 rooms when his foster people are home.  For car trips, Arthur is better in a transport crate. Arthur enjoys people and dog treats and is people friendly. Arthur is prey driven, meaning he will go after cats, small dogs, and animals outside.  Arthur is dog selective. He loves one of his fosters' dogs, but not the other foster dog. Arthur and his foster parents are currently working with professional dog trainers.  Arthur is able to slip his collar and harness so he will need a high fence or he can be walked on a leash to potty. He is a runner and will try to slip out the door and be gone. Therefore, he would do best in a situation where he wouldn't accidentally be let out by children or multiple adults in the home.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Annie, another of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me kennels. Annie is a Black Lab mix, she is just under a year old, and she weighs about 48 pounds; she has a beautiful short haired coat and big brown eyes. Annie has a very sweet disposition and she very much enjoys interacting with people of all ages. She loves spending time in the outdoor play yard and enjoys playing with her toys. But she can get bored quickly and come back to you for more attention if she isn’t being kept entertained. She is still a puppy so we’re working on curbing her play-biting and jumping. Annie tested negative for heart worm last week and she will be given a monthly preventative. She is going to the vet tomorrow morning for her shots and microchip placement. Annie is scheduled to be spayed a week from this Thursday. If you would like to meet Annie, please message Dan on the Mikey & Me FB page. Applications for her adoption can be submitted at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Please consider sharing this post with your friends and family to help us find a safe forever home and family for Annie.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
