Story
OPAL - FOREVER HOME NEEDED OPAL - Female/Lab Mix/ 3 yrs / 40 lbs Opal is a dream! Having only one eye that sees shadows, she still manages to get around really well. She’s figured out how to navigate and will let you know when she’s uncomfortable and needs guidance and reassurance. Doing little things like tapping her food and water bowls, or stomping your feet to help her find you, or using a leash to encourage her, are all helpful for Opal. She loves being outside. She will run around the yard in little spurts. She dances and prances because she’s so happy! It’s really sweet to see. She does well on her walks. You just have to watch for curbs and keep an eye on her but she’s happy as can be. Dog experience would be an asset, but you don’t necessarily need to have had a blind dog previously. She’s pretty easy going and just loves being with you. Anyone that adopts this sweetheart will be very lucky! ***Woof.. Please know that the rescue has posted all the information that they have on me here. As my foster family gets to know me they will post updates, so please check back! If you are interested in me please fill out an application at www.petsaliveniagara.ca/adopt and one of my friends will get back to you within 2 to 5 business days.***

Story
QUEENIE This sweet girl is a three year old, 40 pound happy love bug who just wants attention and to be with her family. She has been with us for a few months and we would love to have her find the perfect home. This vivacious pup is in need of a good, calm home, one where she has the room to run around and let out some of that energy. She loves to play with her toys- the more the better- and really loves long walks. She loves life in general and you can see that in her beautiful smile. Queenie spent much of her life in a shelter and now needs a forever home. She is very good on leash, house-trained and crate trained. She is currently being fostered in a home with 5 dogs and cats. Queenie definitely requires slow introductions with another dog, but once she meets them properly, she will be forever friends. She is not suited for apartment living as she can bark at times and would ideally love to live in a house with a large yard. She definitely needs an experienced owner and someone who doesn’t give in to her somewhat dominant personality. She would do best in a home with no other dogs or a male dog that is calm as well as children over 6. All APM Dogs are spayed/neutered UTD on all vaccinations including kennel cough, and microchipped. Queenie is being fostered in the Smith Falls area.

Story
This is is Danny. He is so adorable. He's around 1 year old. I hate to have to list him as a nervous dog, because in reality, once he comes out of his shell in his new home, he will probably be a completely different dog. But right now, he's new to the shelter, and super nervous. He doesn't trust people yet. He will need a home where his people will help him gain their trust and come out of his shell on his own terms. Whoever adopts him and gets to see hi m flourish will be very lucky! To apply to adopt, please fill out the application form here: https://homeboundhoundz.com/application-form

Story
*Email for video* These puppies are now about 4 months old (but the video/ pictures are from a month ago). Please note that their breeds are unknown, but we have had pups in the past who look like this and they end up being medium to large sized dogs. They seem like lab/shepherd mixes. These pups are very sweet and gentle. They are good with other dogs and cats, and all people. They do not need to be adopted together. The one with the darker snout is a girl and the other is a boy. Please email to see pictures of other past dogs we've had who've been adopted out and look very similar. They are currently located in Kentucky and will be transported to Buffalo, NY, only AFTER an adoption is finalized, therefore a meet and greet prior is not an option. To apply to adopt, please fill out the application form here: https://homeboundhoundz.com/application-form

Story
If you do not see a dog posted on our site that you feel is a good fit for your situation, please come back and visit us again. Our Adoptable Pets page is regularly updated with new pets.  There are currently a number of dogs in foster care being assessed and/or receiving medical treatments who will be coming up for adoption as soon as their foster parents feel they are ready to find their forever homes. Ugly Mutts Rescue Team works very closely with a number of pounds and shelters and are continually assessing dogs that are in need of rescue to be brought into our care.   We also work with caring pet owners to help them find suitable, loving homes for their pets when for some unfortunate reason they are no longer able to continue caring for them. Fostering is a good opportunity for those who are considering adoption but have not yet determined whether they are wanting to make a lifetime commitment to a pet.   Ugly Mutts Rescue Team is very good at selecting dogs that are a good match for their foster family's situation which is why so many of our rescued dogs are adopted by their fosters and never make it to the adoptable pets page.  We can only save the number of pets that we have foster homes to care for them so, please consider helping Ugly Mutts save lives and become a foster parent today.
