Meet our precious Zeke. This boy has been with us over a year, healing from some injuries he obtained living on the street. He is about 5 years old and 52 lbs. He would love to find a permanent place to call his own. Zeke is good with other dogs, does well with children, is leash trained and crate trained. Zeke is a low key kind of guy that enjoys just being part of a family. If you would like to add Zeke to your family he is definitely ready!

Story
Since he was just a puppy, it was touch and go for Radar because he has a heart condition that compromised his health. He needed to be calm and take it easy. Because of his condition, Radar is a special needs adoption. He is active and loves to play, however, he will tire out sooner than the other dog he plays with. Also, Radar cannot be neutered. To put him under anesthesia could result in his death. Radar doesn't know anything at all about this and only that he's a total ham and love bug. Please consider adopting a special needs dog. They need love too! Adopt Radar at.houstonk911rescue.org/adopt.

Story
Meet happy Harlow! This precious girl was rescued from a kill shelter in Houston. She’s about 3 years old and 40lbs. She has big, hopeful brown eyes and a darling underbite. She’s a small black Lab mix, which is a great combo - manageable size and weight, black (our favorite color), active and fun-loving, smart as a whip, affectionate, very loyal and protective of her foster mom. Harlow is a bundle of energy and loves to chase tennis balls. She’s also a real squirrel fan. If she could she would climb a tree to get one that teases her. When she’s back from her walk or run or park time retrieving tennis balls like a pro, she will stand at the window for hours watching squirrels play or birds in the trees like she’s watching TV. Harlow is young, but she has learned her house manners. She is a very quick learner and loves to please. She knows sit, wait, drop it, leave it, down, come, kennel, let’s eat, let’s go outside, walks well on a leash and always seems happy. She likes to learn new things, and then will practice her new talents for her favorite treats. She loves her success, so she benefits from continued training and simple rules. She will sit while her food bowl is filled and wait after it’s put in front of her until she’s told, “Okay Harlow.” She sometimes chooses to lie by her person, but is also independent enough to choose to go lay in her big open kennel (one of her favorite places she uses as a lounge) or on her bed or the couch in another room. Harlow would do best in a home with bigger dogs and children that are older, or adults. She is not a fan of cats. She has the stamina of a young Labrador retriever so she needs a very active household and plenty of exercise. Harlow has truly positive happy energy, so she is a pleasure to have around. Harlow does have a medical issue but it does not slow her down at all. She has “fly biting episodes” and takes medicine every day with good control. These episodes are just a small period of time where Harlow appears to be catching flies, they pass quickly. She has not had any for a very long time as long as she takes her daily pill. If you would like to make Harlow a member of your family, please complete an adoption application.

Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** If you're looking for a designer goldenlabrapoodledoodle puppy, Fidget isn't the right dog for you. If, instead, you can see the beauty within, you are someone who roots for the underdog, you love a good tearjerker (with a happy ending of course), you can look past an ugly past to see a bright future, you love the rewards of winning over the heart of a former street dog, Fidget is your girl. When Fidget was rescued, she had no hair, was emaciated and absolutely terrified of humans. After months of rehabbing at our rescue facility, she made terrific strides physically but was still emotionally scarred. She went to a foster home that specializes in shy street dogs but she spent three days cowering in the corner of the kitchen refusing to eat or move. After two weeks, no one could touch her. To avoid being "trapped", she would never enter a door or hallway if a human was on the other side. She was afraid to spend more than a few seconds going to the bathroom outside in case she was attacked. She either refused to eat or ate so quickly she forgot to breathe. Watching Fidget was heartbreaking beyond belief and so depressing to contemplate what humans had done to put Fidget into this state. We can't lie and say Fidget was transformed overnight. In fact, she has needed time to make even the smallest changes. First, she let the foster mom in the house touch her. Then the kids. And finally foster dad too. In the beginning, she would spend every minute hiding in the back of her crate. Then she moved to a doggy bed. Eventually she discovered the joys of sleeping in a human bed and now she sleeps at the foot of the bed or in between foster mom and dad's heads. She started off terrified of leashes. Now she loves walks and can't wait to get going. One thing she's always been great with is other dogs -- originally they made her feel safe and she would follow them to feel secure. Now she is a leader, loves to play and tussle, and is assertive without ever being aggressive. Her foster home has six other dogs and she is a favorite with all of them, big and small. Fidget's transformation has been many months in the making now, and she is gaining in confidence every day. But after all this time, she is still growing back her hair with weird bald patches in spots, her breath smells kind of funny, she's missing a few teeth, and she's twitchy thanks to surviving distemper. In short, she's not going to win any beauty contests. But Fidget is a joy to be around, even more so when you know where this brave and sweet girl has come from. If you want to be the next, last chapter in her "happily ever after" story, adopt Fidget. *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org. The adoption fee of $225 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Transportation available and will be addressed individually to best meet the needs of the dog. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member!

Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Howdy! I'm Tex. I'm a high energy guy who loves playing and running around. I've heard people say I'm a big boy, but I just don't get it. I only weigh 82 pounds...is that a lot? Oh well, size isn't an issue for me! You're only as big as you act, in my mind. And I act like I weigh 20 pounds! My very favorite thing in the world is chasing all things smaller than me. Since that's a hobby of mine, I can't live in a home with smaller dogs or cats or any small animal. And, since I'm as strong as (and as big as) a small horse (so they say...) I also need to be walked with a muzzle while in a neighborhood. I just can't help it. I really, really love to chase things! Squirrels, cats or yorkies...they're all fair game. So, for everyone's safety, I go along with the muzzle thing. After all, pleasing my humans is pretty important to me. If you're an active person looking to add a dog to your daily runs or hikes, I'd love to meet you! It'd be great to have a family of my own. *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org. **This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Meet Tye! This spunky lab mix really is something special. After many years on the streets, he really appreciates the good life! He’s no puppy though, and has the doggy manners to prove it. But Tye is definitely still full of life, loves to play and is eager to please. He’s been waiting patiently for his forever home, while we at the rescue got him all fixed up and healthy. Tye went through chemo and surgery and more, and now has a clear bill of health and still keeps his sparkling personality. Won’t you give Tye the home of his doggie dreams?! *** Please apply to adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org.
