Story
Hello there! My name is Anita. I am a 3 1/2 year old, Black Lab/Shar Pei mix. I am a very sweet girl who loves anything FOOD. Since I love to eat I am also a very strong girl. I am learning not to pull when I walk, but as of now my foster mommy says I need an owner just as strong as I am. I would do best in a home as the only pet since I do not get along with most dogs. I am crate trained and house broken. If you're an active person looking for a running companion or just someone to hang out with I am your girl! If you are interested in meeting Anita, please apply at www.hhfrescue.org. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter, microchip, a lifetime registration of the microchip, and sales tax. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

Story
Hi There! My name is KiKi and I was abandoned by my previous owners. See, my first family must have not wanted me any more, since they tied me to a street sign using a computer cord and left me by myself. I spent the weekend out in the rain with no shelter, cars zooming by, being bitten by ants, but I was such a good girl and I waited patiently and quietly for them to come back. But they never came back to get me. A nice lady, who calls herself my "foster mom," saw me waiting patiently when she went to work and let me get into her car and out of the bad weather. I remember there were such scary storms that weekend. And that's how I ended up here. My foster parents tell me I'm goofy and clumsy, but very lovable. I am still very much a puppy, according to the nice vet I got to meet. As I get bigger, the laps get smaller, but that doesn't stop me from sitting in them. I love to cuddle and wag my tail and to be petted. I enjoy hiding my chicken jerky from my foster parents every chance I get. I've learned to sit, shake, lay down, roll over and "wait" (for treats) and I'm eager to learn more if you'll teach me. I'm basically a big love bug and I always want to be by your side. I get along with my other 5 dog friends in the foster house, but I do LOVE to play, which can be a little bit much for some older or really small dogs, since I have so much energy. I'd love a big yard to play in but I'd probably do ok in an apartment, if there is a play area nearby.  I really want a new "family" to call my own. If you would like to meet me, just let my foster parents know. Thank you! Love, KikiThe adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter, microchip, a lifetime registration of the microchip, and sales tax. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us. New foster needed for Hazel! Hazel is a 4 year old, spayed Lab/AmStaff mix. She loves attention and loves to cuddle! She knows basic commands and is willing to listen. She enjoys running with her foster mommy! Hazel loves to play. Her current foster has 3 male XL dogs and they wrestle and chase each other in the yard. She is also living with a 4 year old and 4 month old children, so she's learning to be careful with her space. Story
Stella is a 5 year old, Lab/American Staffordshire mix. She is about 40lbs and loves attention and to snuggle. Stella is crate trained and sleeps in there at night.  Stella would do best in a quieter home that does not have kids. We are working on training and socialization. She was found along I-45 on the feeder road, we have attached her before photos - she had scars all over her body, likely was chained up outside her whole life (she had a collar that had to be cut off of her because it was rusted together). She would be a perfect dog for someone that has the time, patience and commitment to continue training with her. She loves being inside now and sleeping on her pet beds. She is housetrained. She also loves to go on walks and explore - she would be great for someone that runs also. At home with her foster family  she is very much a lap dog, she just wants to be right next to you all the time. To adopt or foster Stella, please apply at www.hhfrescue.org.
