Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Name: Vail  DOB: 5/1/17 Weight: 20lbs Adoption Fee: $350 Hi there! Vail here -I just moved to MN within the last couple months and I have had quite the ride thus far. You see, I moved from TX where I was found on the side of the road in a kennel along with almost 20 other dogs. We were all brought into the shelter and I was finally picked up to go to a foster family so I could join a new life in MN. As you can imagine, my human interactions haven't been that great prior to coming to MN. My foster mom didn't give up on me and she keeps telling me that I will learn to love her like she loves me. I have to say I am still coming around, but I'm a whole new doggy. I don't like to be held, but I do love to go outside and play with my foster sisters and brothers. My kennel is still my safe place, so if I get a little too overwhlemed, I'll go in there and lay down for a bit. My foster mom asked me to think about my perfect home, so this is what I am thinking so far. I would love a calmer home, young kids are a little too unpredictable for me, I also would love to have a doggy friend and a secure, fenced yard. I currently live with dogs and cats and I think both are great, but I do love to play with the other doggies and they are teaching me so much too! My foster mom could go on about me, so if you have questions or are interested in me, please fill out an adoption application at www.ruffstartrescue.org. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal. Once we receive your application, a placement coordinator will be in contact with you as soon as possible. Please check out our website, www.ruffstartrescue.org for more details and additional pictures on any of our animals! All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Name: Thaddeus DOB: 03/28/2012 Weight: 15lbs Adoption Fee: 300.00 Hey everyone! My name is Thaddeus. I came from Texas originally. A little bit about me...I was found in Fresno, TX with a couple other doggy friends.  I have been around small and large dogs but no kitties! I am familiar with children, but have not lived with them. I am working on being fully potty trained but I am dog door trained. I love the outdoors so I can run and play as well as playing with my other dog friends. I can be fairly mellow at times so I am not opposed to my time alone so I can nap! I have a medium activity level so I am not super high energy! I like to be quiet so don’t worry I rarely, if ever bark. I am very curious so I may follow you around often to see what you are up to! I like to play and meet new humans and fellow dog friends! I like a good sectional couch or chair, so I am hoping you have a nice comfy one for me! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Name: Pennie DOB: 12/17/2015 Weight: 14 lbs Adoption Fee: 375.00 Hi my name is Pennie and my sister Pepper and I came all the way from the streets of Texas with the help of Ruff Start Rescue.  We are a bonded pair and it is not known how long we were on the streets but it was way too long.   Because we have been on the streets and likely mistreated, we are frightened of people and day to day life of humans. We are considered extremely fearful so many tools of positive association are offered to us and we like that a lot!    Of the two of us, I am a little smaller, less brave and beed more help with self confidence. Since I am not used to living in a house, I am not potty trained, but I am using poddy pads perfectly. I can be a picky eater but my foster Mom has figured out some of my favorites.  I dont like eating in front of her but I will eat a little from inside my crate and pop right out after she leaves to discover what has been left for me to enjoy.    My foster Mom has been reading to me almost everyday. I listen to classical music and it is really calm and quiet here - I hope for the same environment in my forever home! My foster Mom does not touch me becasue I get really scared so she is letting me decide the pace of us bonding and I really appreciate that.    Time and patience is what I need so I can adjust to living in a house, having a yard and a family. I need a home with a fenced yard and young children would likely be too much for me.    I am heartworm positive and just finished my last set of treatments, so I am currently on exercise restrictions, which is no problem for me because I am not very active due to being fearful.    If you have room in your home and heart for two lovely little dogs, we would love to find our forever home! We would really like a home that is quiet and have people who can continue to work with us on blossoming.  We are worth the wait and earning our trust is a really big gift we can offer to the right people. Our foster Mom is experienced with fearful dogs and will be happy to help you in any she can to transition us.  An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal.  Please check out our website, www.ruffstartrescue.org for more details and additional pictures on any of our animals!
