Nala is great with people once she gets to know them but can be a little stand offish in the beginning. She likes to go for walks, get a belly rub or just be talked to and hang out for a while. She would do best in a home without kids since she seems to have some nervousness in the beginning and lots of people coming and going wouldn't be a great fit for her. She was born in August 2015.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heartworm preventative, heartworm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.

Story

Stella is a 7 year old, 87 lb mastiff girl who, despite a rough start in life, has a funny, loving personality. Found as a stray foraging for food in the winter, Stella truly appreciates a soft bed, warm blanket and yummy food. The tip of her tongue peaks out endearingly from an “Elvis” lip. Her entire body wiggles when she wags her tail, even when she sits. She loves affection and wants to be next to you on the couch or in bed while you watch TV or read. Stella is house trained and knows basic commands like sit, shake, and stay. She gets along with other dogs most of the time, but she should be introduced slowly. Stella doesn't live with kids, but we think she would be ok with kids over the age of 10. Stella is at that mature age where she is no longer interested in playing, but she loves getting attention and taking naps!

Hi, my name is Abby and I'm a 6 year old English Mastiff weighing in a mere 115 lbs. I feel like I'm in the prime of my life, and I'm looking forward to spending my golden years with the perfect family for me. They need to be a family of cuddlers because that's one of my favorite things to do is hang out with my people and snuggle. I like to go on walks, too. When we found out about Troy he was going to be euthanized - labeled aggressive. While he had not 'done' anything, the shelter staff were afraid of his posture and growling while he was pressed against the back of his run. His foster went to get him, walked into his run, put a slip lead on him and walked right out with him. Troy has never shown any aggression to humans. He lives with lots of other dogs, small, big, young and old. He is food aggressive with other animals so one would need to be careful with treats around him. He is easily managed but one must manage this. He eats in his kennel in his foster home as there are many dogs and should be feed separately or monitored if eating around other animals. Otherwise he's great with everyone, even the kitties.He is still fearful but has come a long way. He and his foster were instant friends. Within the first couple days he was sleeping on the foster husband's feet to be nearby. Now he will meet new people with treats and patience and is curious. If he's nervous he will retreat or cower, not confront so is safe with people not giving him space. If in a very social environment or a crowd he would WANT to be in another room. A small group ignoring him would probably be great to improve his people skills. Troy is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, neutered and on heart worm and flea/tick preventatives.
