Story
Ophelia is 12. I adopted from western MN at 4 months old. She is a wonderful dog, who is super patient, she loves walks and being scratched. She does well with other dogs and has a very calm demeanor. She is protective in the right way and loves to chase squirrels. She does steal food. A habit I have tried to break for years. But her size lends her reach power to unexpected heights. Her biggest flaw is she love to eat poop. The only way for her not to do it is to pick it up right away. I shave her in the summer and let her coat grow for the winter. She loves the snow, laying in it, eating it and playing. Ophelia deserves a home where she can be dotted on and given the right amount of affection. With two little kids in a very small house with busy work schedules, she, unfortunately, has become an after thought.

Story
Are you looking for a fluffy friend of your very own? Well, look no further. I'm Lori and I'm as fluffy as they come! My foster mom says that I'm also the sweetest girl you will ever meet. I'm really excited to find a home where I can share all of my love with a family who will love me as much in return. At night I sleep on my very own bed right next to my foster parents' bed and I've just started having the run of the house during the day. I also have my own special house that my foster mom calls a 'crate' and am happy to be there when I need to be. I will play with other dogs briefly but mostly prefer my own space. I am working on going potty outside but, since this is my first time in a house, it's a work in progress. I do walk very nicely on a leash and only bark from time to time. So if you're looking for a new best friend, consider me, Lori! Lori is estimated to be 1.5 years old and 69 lbs. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative. Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis.If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Jonathan is your typical puppy that enjoys playing,snuggling,and napping. He has been GREAT at going potty outside. He gives cues that he has to go out,and does really well with a schedule. Jonathan doesn't love his kennel but after a little whimpering-he calms right down,and is fine hanging out in there for a few hours. He sleeps in his kennel all night with keeping it dry.  He has shown interest in the cat but accepted the cat's boundaries after being put in his place. He enjoys playing with the other dogs and would do well with a bigger dog to show him the way. He can get a little snarky with the other dogs being by his food bowl-but not horrible and redirects nicely. He is a smart puppy that has a spunky attitude. He loves to be right by everything that is going on,but will also stay on the rug chewing his toys minding his own business.     I'd recommend that Jonathan go to an experienced owner of large breed dogs as he will need a strong leader. He would also be better for a family with older kids since he is nipping our legs trying to "herd" us already. He is learning that it's not acceptable but he would most likely do better with older kids. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue.
