Story
Our barn cat program is for our cats that take part in the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program but can't be returned to their communities because of danger or lack of care. These are our less social cats that don't crave the company of people, at least at this point in their lives. These cats are peaceful, easy to care for, and make friends easily with other farm animals. Pictured is our lovely Chula who was adopted as a mouser for the family chicken coop. The family followed the relocation instructions and Chula became queen of the land! Like Chula, many families that have adopted a barn cat report that the cats have become friendly over time and bonded with the other animals as well has the people. Most often, the cats are delivered in pairs by our volunteer that settle the cats in and provide instructions for you to follow. All agree that it is very rewarding to give a home and freedom to a less fortunate cat who just by chance was born without a human hand. Story
Maj is our stunning, lady cat. She is a striking black tabby, tall and with a long nose. Maj is very social and friendly. Like all queen kitties, they would love to have your undivided attention instead of sharing you with those other cats. She does not start any confrontations so if you did have other respectful cats that would be fine as long as you made her feel special. Please fill out an application for this beauty on our website at www.hucatrescue.org. Thank you!

Story
Leo is the happiest kitten in the world despite that he can't walk and has a cloudy eye. He is an inspiration to us all. He is so happy with what he has and what he can do. So what if other cats can walk and get places faster! He came to us at only four weeks old with his beautiful sister Emma. While it was obvious that something was not quite right with him, it became more apparent with time that he was a CH kitten. Cerebellum hypoplasia is a neurological condition caused when a pregnant kitty gets very ill, usually with distemper, and the cerebellum part of the brain in the kittens still in the womb does not develop properly. There are different degrees from very mild to severe. Leo and Little Man are on the severe spectrum. Leo especially needs help getting to the litter box when he is out of the nursery room. He lets you know when he has to get to the box and off you go carrying him on your shoulders and laying him in the box. He does his business, you pat him dry, he says thank you and he's off again having a blast. Once a routine is set, it's not as hard as it sounds. Leo is intelligent. What he lacks in coordination, he makes up in self-awareness. He is fearless and loving! He likes to FaceTime other volunteers and he loves the UPS man. He loves everyone! The boys will require a permanent home with a room to keep them safe and for when you are not home. The room must have an area rug if not carpeted. There are many support groups willing to share information and knowledge on caring for CH kitties. They have brought us so much joy and we will shed tears when they leave us but it is our mission to find homes so we can rescue more. Please fill out an application for these adorable, outstanding, inspiration little boys on our website at www.hucatrescue.org. Thank you!
