You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- ADA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.ATTENTION- DUE TO THE COVID19 RESTRICTIONS IN VA, BATH ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY IS UNABLE TO COMPLETE ADOPTIONS AT THIS TIME. Story
Kilo was rescued by us as an 8 week old puppy. He was born December 2018. He has been a wonderful dog however our family household has had to deal with some medical issues and an unexpected move. The current home we have is not optimal nor enough space for this large of a dog. He is fully house trained and full of playful energy. He does not like being left alone for long periods of time. He has never bitten anyone or even shown any signs of aggression. We have never had him around young children simply because we don’t have any. He is good with teenagers always in and out of the house. He is fine with cats and dogs however he has not been neutered yet. His shots are all up to date.

Story
Meet Harper!   If this 18 month, old 36 lb, Pointer/Border Collie mix were a person, she'd be the flighty, popular teenager with a fear of missing out!  Harper's FOMO is well earned, as she had a very unfortunate upbringing that involved having at least one litter of puppies by the time she was a year old. She came to us from an underserved shelter starving for food and attention.    When she joined the training team, Harper was unable to sit. Her lanky hind legs seemed to make her part kangaroo, and Harper would spring off the ground every time her bottom touched it. Now she has a lovely sit and will give her handler great eye contact knowing that a treat is coming as the reward for her patience. Harper walks nicely on a leash, and if she pulls ahead, we tell her 'no.' She is very sensitive, and a verbal command tends to make her drop her head as though she is in big trouble. We are quick to compliment her positive leash skills, and she loves hearing 'good girl!'    Harper loves to run and play and will occupy her time galloping in the field looking for toys to gather. She knows her name and will come when called. Harper has many dog friends her size and larger. Her energy level can be exhausting to the more sedate, older dog. She should not go into a home with cats. We do not recommend Harper go into a home with children under the age of 12, and she sometimes bounces off of people when she is overly excited.    We are working with Harper on simply being quiet and calm in her space. To that end, 5 training classes are sponsored in Howard County to help her tire her mind as well as her body.    Harper is up-to-date on her shots and her adoption fee is $375.
