Story
Beau is a beautiful 6 year old redbone coonhound, possibly a mixed breed. He is a really sweet, lovable dog who is good with kids and other dogs. He needs a home where he is allowed in the house because he is afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks. He would probably do best with a family that doesn’t have small children. While he loves all children, he can be a little rambunctious and might knock them down. His favorite place to be is wherever you are, whether riding in the car or just laying around watching TV. He has had some training and knows the commands “sit”, “wait”, and “lay down”. He is up to date on all shots and is neutered and microchipped. We love him dearly but have to find him a new home due to our own health issues.

Story
Patience and Otis are 7-8 month old Redbone littermates that were surrendered to Rescue and are now safe in their Dallas area foster home. They get along well with the other dogs in their foster home and don't mind the horses. They are kennel and housetrained and are learning to walk on a leash. They both have gorgeous eyes, rimmed with black "eyeliner." Odie is not shy at all; he loves everyone, especially kids, and will follow his foster family around the yard. He's a quiet pup that doesn't bark much. He rides well in a car and loves to have his ears scratched. Patience is very cautious of new people but wants so badly to be friends with everyone. She will lay on her belly to be petted and loves reassurance. She would do well in a home with a confident doggie playmate to help build her own confidence. Story
Colton is the complete package! Such a handsome gentle giant. He is a 3 yr old male Redbone Coonhound/American FoxHound mix that weighs 94 lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray on 5/7 with another dog. This wonderful boy was definitely someone's pet as he is clean, very well mannered, and housetrained. He walks fantastic on a leash and takes treats gently. He enjoys walking close to his human companions and will look up at you with a big smile on his face. Being petted, given hugs and kisses, he truly enjoys it. He spent time investigating the shelter yard, and didn't show an interest in the other dogs barking as we walked through the shelter. Colton needs to be in a loving home environment, not an apartment, where he has his own secured backyard, a fluffy dog bed inside or he can cuddle with you on the couch watching a favorite TV show. You could not ask for a better companion. He is a volunteer favorite! Come spend time with him and you will understand why we have fallen for him

Story
Bella is an incredibly sweet and gentle 4 year old Treeing Walker girl that was found walking along the side of a road. One of her front paws had an old injury and it appears that no vet care was ever given; the toes were missing, perhaps caught in a trap. Fortunately her mobility is very good and the injury certainly does not stop her when there is squirrel near by. Normally though, she is quite calm and very gentle, she just loves affection and does great with children, dogs, cats and even chickens. In good weight at about 65 lbs, Bella rides well in the car. If you think you have room in your heart and home for this wonderful Coonie, please fill out an application at www.coonhoundrescue.com

Story
Uptown Girl is a gorgeous 4 year old liver and tan Bloodhound that was surrendered, along with her daughter Valley Girl, by their owner due to his declining health. This beautiful hound weighs approximately 90 lbs and is housetrained and cratetrained. She is protective of her food around other dogs and would do best in a home as the only pet; Valley Girl is the only other dog that she seems to like. She walks well on a leash and is great in the car. Uptown Girl is very timid around strangers at first but will warm up quickly with the help of ear rubs and back scratches. Uptown Girl is waiting in the Dallas area for her new family. If you think you have room in your heart and home for this wonderful Bloodhound, please fill out an application at www.coonhoundrescue.com
