At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need.The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary, but all include spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccinations and deworming, rabies vaccine at the time of spay or neuter, and 30 days of pet insurance. If you would like to visit one our amazing pups, please review the policies below, complete an online application www.adoptmountainpets.org and give us call if you have any questions prior to coming by. 970 626 2273 Baloo is a 2 year old big loving boy! He loves to be around people and gives great hugs. Baloo does great on a leash, loves taking walks and meeting new friends. He gets along well with other nice dogs and children too. Baloo is currently in foster but is ready for his forever home. Please call to schedule an appointment to meet him. Adopters will be considered on the totality of the application and how it matches the particular pet's needs. We often adopt same day as the first visit an interview but it is not guaranteed. Some dogs will take multiple visits and adopters are approved based on the best fit for the particular animal being considered. We do not hold pets during the process. Most dogs who come from the shelter will not be house trained. We do not know or make guarantees that a dog or cat will do well with all children, other animals or is house-trained. It is important everyone, especially all of the adults in the home, meet the potential new pet. Please also bring photo identification if you plan to adopt. We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter. All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely. Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord. Nala is a great dog. She is the protector of our house. She is kind and loving and I hate to have to let her go but we are downsizing and are unable to take her with us. She has a wonderful brother Nemo (black and white dog) in photos that I would love to rehome to the same owners. They have been together for the past seven years and I’d love if they could stay together. Both are up-to-date on shots and have been well-cared for and documented.

Roadie is a rescue dog. Her and her litter mates were found living on the streets in El Paso Texas. I adopted her and have loved her for five years. She is very good on walks (wears a harness), is housebroken, ands gets along well with other dogs. She is a pretty high energy dog and a yard would be best so she can run and play - she likes to play tag. I am careful with the toys I give her as she likes to shred the cloth ones into pieces. Bones are best for her. Her experience with children is limited. While from what I’ve seen, she is fine with them, she is a big dog at 78 pounds, and could be too rough for toddlers. She has no experience with cats. If she had her way, she would be a lap dog. Expect her, once adjusted, to follow you around the house, keeping you, her favorite thing in sight.

Red is about 2 years old and past the puppy stage. He is highly trainable, very energetic and has the sweetest disposition. He was abandoned in a Lowe’s parking lot, and stayed there evading capture for about 2 weeks. He was physically abused and so requires some special care. He also has some allergy issues, but, other than that, he is very healthy.
