Story
Nala is a great dog. She is the protector of our house. She is kind and loving and I hate to have to let her go but we are downsizing and are unable to take her with us. She has a wonderful brother Nemo (black and white dog) in photos that I would love to rehome to the same owners. They have been together for the past seven years and I’d love if they could stay together. Both are up-to-date on shots and have been well-cared for and documented.

At MAMCO we understand that in order to continue rescuing moms and babies, we must stretch our finances as far as we are able. For this reason we use variable adoption pricing. By assigning higher adoption fees to high demand moms and puppies, we are able to rescue more families in need.The money raised through these adoptions acts as a benefactor to moms and puppies in our care who require expensive veterinary treatments, have behavioral issues, or need more time to find a home. We often reduce the adoption fees on these harder-to-place moms and puppies to help them find forever families. Adoption fees vary, but all include spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccinations and deworming, rabies vaccine at the time of spay or neuter, and 30 days of pet insurance. We also cover hernia repair and cherry eye repair at the time of spay or neuter. Applications can be filled out at mamcorescue.org. ##569678##

Meet “Rattlesnake Joe” or as we call him “R.J.” In 2015, we adopted R.J. as a six-month-old Greyhound/Catahoula (and probably a few other breeds) mix puppy from Prison Trained K-9 Companion Program (PTKCP) in Canon City, CO. He started his life as a 12-week old puppy on the side of the road in Colorado Springs after being bitten by a rattlesnake (thus his infamous name of “Rattlesnake Joe”). Fortunately, a State Trooper found him and took him to a local vet that rescued and treated him. He was then given to the PTKCP that is a program which provides the outside community with pre-trained dogs. He is a very athletic/agile dog, great demeanor with people/kids but unfortunately he's having too many dog aggression issues and we live in a downtown area.
