Hi, my name is Bernadette, but you can call me Bernie! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:-Personality: Playful, sweet and loving -Can Live with Kids: Yes, 8 and older -Can Live with Cats: No, I have never lived with cats and like to chase small animals-Can Live with Dogs: Yes I would like a companion of similar size and temperament -Can do Apartment Living: No, I bark excessively -Potty Trained: Yes-Bite History: No-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Depending on adopters experience with reactive and high energy dogs. -Experience Required: No -Leash Trained: Yes-Energy Level: Medium/High -Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No-Additional Information: Bernie would love to have a place to call home for the rest of her life! She is a sweet girl who would love to play fetch with you all day and learn new skills! Bernie is full of energy and will need regular exercise and mental stimulation! Although we have not witnessed this at WHS Bernie's previous owner mentioned dog reactivity as well as dog aggression, so this is something that may need to be on your radar and may need to be worked on in the future.

Story
Bernie is a three-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. I adopted her in late July 2019 from a rescue in Huntsville, AL prior to relocating to Washington state. Bernie is the MOST loving dog I've ever met in my life. She loves people and always wants to be around them. Every person she meets is her new best friend and she is extremely loyal to her pack. She craves human contact and cuddles like a real person. I refer to her as my little spoon all the time because she always has to be touching me in her sleep. She has quite the personality. She requires belly rubs every day and blisses out every time – see attached video for proof. Bernie has developed an increased reactivity to other dogs that's become more of a need than I'm able to provide resources for. I put her through a week of dog training with a specialist and saw definite improvements. But she needs further training and help. She needs plenty of outdoor time in a yard where she can run & play and needs to be the only pet.

Apollo needs a home with:-No cats-No dogs-No chickens-No kids under the age of 12-No apartmentsMeet Apollo! Apollo is a handsome 4 year old Thai Ridgeback (he is listed online as a Rhodesian Ridgeback because his true breed, Thai Ridgeback, is unfortunately not listed as an option in our shelter database). He is an energetic boy who would love to accompany you on your morning runs or your favorite hiking trails. It is important that his adopters are prepared to give him plenty of exercise to keep him healthy and happy! Although on occasion he has been know to snuggle on the couch, he absolutely loves playing and would appreciate all different kinds of toys - especially ones of the squeaky variety! He's ready for his adopter to teach him how to play fetch (he loves to chase the ball, but he doesn't quite know how to bring it back yet!). He'd also appreciate fun food puzzles like Kongs stuffed with tasty peanut butter to keep him mentally stimulated all day long. Apollo is looking for a house (no apartments please) with children over the age of 12. He needs to live in a home without other dogs, without chickens and without cats. Apollo can be a bit shy at first and takes some time, love, and treats to warm up to new people. Once he is comfortable, he loves to cuddle on the couch and get lots of pets. He is a smart boy and would benefit from positive reinforcement training so that he can bond with you over a shared activity.
